GE 1339BW002 Microwave stopped working

About 2 months ago, you suggested I replace the monitor switch on my microwave because it came on when I opened the door. This fixed the problem and it has been running like new since then. Just yesterday, everything stopped working, as if I unplugged the unit. I checked the house CB and the outlet for power...both OK. Is there an internal fuse that might be giving me a problem?

Thanks for the help but I'm still having the problem. I made a post on 12/15 saying that it still blows the fuse after a few seconds I push the start button and the heavy draw kicks in. I even tried two fuses thinking maybe one was bad, but no luck. I've been researching other microwave problems on your site that say it might be the HV transformer or the HV capacitor. Is there a way of testing either of those parts on the microwave before I start looking to buy a replacement. My guess is they're not cheap. Would appreciate a good parts place recomendation as well. Thanks again.

Yes, there should be a ceramic (tubular) fuse under the cover on the top side where the power comes into the microwave.

Control panel for GE microwave

The control panel module is different from the membrane. Unfortunately these modules themselves are usually very expensive, perhaps 1/2 the cost of a new microwave.

Sorry.

FUSE on Microwave still blows

Sounds like a power supply problem. There is a capacitor in the unit which often gives problems. This may be beyond non-professional help and may have been started when you had the other failure.

GE SpaceMaker Microwave suddenly stops while heating

I had same problem last week. My GE JVM1650 Spacemaker stopped after a few seconds of heating. Owned 16 months, manufactured Jan 2005. It was the magnetron, which was replaced yesterday. The magnetron has a 10-year warranty, but I had to pay $161.00 for labor by a GE technician. The call-out fee was waived at my request. I don't know what that amount would have been, but I can't believe the $161.00 for what was about 1/2 hour labor once diagnosed. Good Luck!
