I have a Whirlpool washer model GHW915OPWO. It seems to be washing in hot water only, no matter how I set the controls. Any ideas?

Check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine and remove the water supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the water inlet valve openings. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Pay particular attention to the cold water side. Check the solenoids for continuity using a multimeter or ohmmeter. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid.
