GE JVM1339BW002 Stopped working

About 2 months ago, you suggested I replace the monitor switch on my microwave because it came on when I opened the door. This fixed the problem and it has been running like new since then. Just yesterday, everything stopped working, as if I unplugged the unit. I checked the house CB and the outlet for power...both OK. Is there an internal fuse that might be giving me a problem?

Re: GE JVM1339BW002 Stopped working

Yes, there should be a ceramic (tubular) fuse under the cover on the top side where the power comes into the microwave.

How do you remove and then replace the handle on microwave model JVM1339BW002

Open the door and you'll see a plastic frame that goes around the inside of the door. That has to be removed VERY carefully by prying it out.It breaks very easily. I use a putty knife. When thats off you will see two screws that hold the handle in place.

Stopped work when open microwave door no power now , replace the cermaic fuse and replace the secoundary interlock switch with mocro switch subsitte wb24x10103 when turn run again the power came on and...

I finally was able to fix similar problem. The "primary" door switch (top switch) had a burned contact inside the switch body, as well as burned surrounding plastic. It would no longer "click" and tended to stay in "closed" position. [The switch is a "normally open" design (NO).] When this occurs and the door is opened, the "monitor" switch causes the fuse to blow out. GE wants $50 for this part. However, I was able to find a universal design of microswitch at Fry's Electronics. It had the same rating (15 amp at 250 volts), same body size, both NO and NC terminals, but with a lever arm which I had to remove by opening the case. Cost was $2.47 + tax. (PRICELESS!). So far so good. I also had to buy a set of Torx driver bits for tamperproof screws to be able to remove the oven cover. (The hole in the end of the bit goes over the tamperproof pin of the screw).

FUSE on Microwave still blows

Sounds like a power supply problem. There is a capacitor in the unit which often gives problems. This may be beyond non-professional help and may have been started when you had the other failure.

Microwave Door Switch Problem?

That model number has too many digits after the JVM. Could it be JVM1339BW02 or JVM1339BW002?

If one is bad, it's probably the bottom switch, whose wiring goes back to the power relay, thermostat, or fuse, depending on eact model.

The switch with thin wires going to a ltitle connector on the board is the door sense switch. That's not likely your culprit.

I usually recommend you replace them all while you're at it.

It sounds like it may actually be a loose or misaligned door or door switch mount.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and
disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here:

GE models have a very helpful "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel. Handy in troubleshooting.

GE SpaceMaker Microwave suddenly stops while heating

I had same problem last week. My GE JVM1650 Spacemaker stopped after a few seconds of heating. Owned 16 months, manufactured Jan 2005. It was the magnetron, which was replaced yesterday. The magnetron has a 10-year warranty, but I had to pay $161.00 for labor by a GE technician. The call-out fee was waived at my request. I don't know what that amount would have been, but I can't believe the $161.00 for what was about 1/2 hour labor once diagnosed. Good Luck!
