Kitchenaid Refer Icemake not working

I have a Kitchenaid refer Model KSRL25FRST04. I purchased this refer from Lowe's for what I thought was a good price because it needed a control board that came with it. I installed the new board and everything worked well except the icmaker that does nothing. I have water because the chilled water works on the door. If I open the freezer door and hold the switches closed and there is a flashing light for the ice level eye. It flashes and never goes solid, I'm not sure if it should? Can you help me?

Re: Kitchenaid Refer Icemake not working

The light is supposed to flash twice with a 1 second intermission. When the fridge door is closed the light stays ON. Check this by pushing the white flap to the right of the icemaker while the door is open

Is there a ice maker avaiable for a GE TBX211A The Refrigerator was Made 10/19/98

Yes their is a icemake r kit that will fit in your ref.
its part number IM6 and contains the icemaker, ice storage bucket, water inlet valve and all the necessary tubing and wiring for it...what is not included would be a water supply line that connects from the house plumbing to the icemaker

Its available from Lowe's,HomeDepot, or online many places (google IM6)

My icemake does not make ice

It sounds like it is time to replace your icemaker. It is not requesting water and it is not going to restart once it fails. The part number is 2198597 and it is about 130 dollars. You can try to look around for a cheaper price but don't buy a generic unit. You will regret it.

Kitchenaid superba refer side by side

its normal for the temperature to stay around 28 degrees farenheight int the bottom drawer. (fresh cut meat keeps better at his temp). you can adj the temp slide near the bottom of the refrig next to the botom drawer to help adj temp. veggies will almost always freeze in the bottom drawer. also adj the temp controls to a little bit warmer to help as well.

Keep in mind the mid point settings on your refrig is just a starting point for you to adj to where it works best for you and your usage..

Kitchen Aid Refrigerator Issues

Great job on the defrost drain fix, it's exactly what we do. Check that the duct damper does close fully when the refer side temps are set to warmest. It could be freezing due to that damper not closing fully or at all. It should only be open to let cold air in until the temp is satisfied then closes again. The temp control in the refer may also be failed so it doesn't know the temp was reached. The bi-metal is only there for a safety device basically to kill power to the heat elements if the defrost cycle runs too long or the area gets too hot. I'd suspect the air damper is stuck open and contstantly letting cold air into the refer side.
