My Bosh Exxcel is not heating up the water and therefore nothing is getting clean

My Bosch dishwasher still produces warm water, but not hot; it use to be that when you opened the door mid-cycle a strong gust of hot steam would come out; no longer! It seems just luke warm now and I'm concerned it's not really getting the dishes optimally clean.  Also beads of water remain on some of the dishes, so it seems it no longer is heat drying them.  I wonder if the heater is slowing going out?

    Oh My God!!!!!
That's exactly what happened to mine!
First no hot water, then neverending cycles. Now it's back to very luke warm again and cycles do end but only the intensive cycle works.

We had the same problem and you are not going to like the answer... we ended up having the service tech come out to fix it and this is what we learned. The problem is that saudering (sp?) used in the "brain" of the machine can not withstand the heat that it produces, so eventually the connections melt and come apart. This is a manufacturing problem and the tech said it should be a recall, but Bosch will not do so. He said it was a VERY common problem. It starts out that the water does not get hot enough anymore. Then you notice that your dishes are still wet when they get done. They then start being dirty still. Then you will notice that the cycles seem to go on forever, and finally it will just not stop. Our service tech (he is an authorized Bosch service tech) said that we should try to get Bosch to cover the repairs. It cost almost $300. We were 36 days out of warranty and they flat out refused! We had it fixed and paid the bill, but were not pleased. Feel that Bosch should stand behind their product and name better. It has been a year or so, and guess what? It is happening again. I will not pay for a repair this time. I will scrap the piece of junk and NOT BUY BOSCH again. Good luck with yours!

There is a heater in the base of the dishwasher . It could be this is faulty as you can still use the machine .
It does'nt matter that you have connected it to the cold water tap the machie should heat up the water it self.this is'nt a job you can do your self so you will have to call out an engineer sorry

My bosh exxcel disher dose dot fill

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the water inlet valve which is located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side of the Dishwasher. If the water inlet valve is bad you have to replace it, also check the main water line for clogs/obstructions. If still the issue is not resolved then it’s a bad float switch and needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hi,

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Bosh exxcel dishwasher heater problem

Check with multi-meter for power on the heating element's tags. If it does get power, you should replace the heating element. In case of no power- you should replace the thermostat. Good luck!

Water/steam coming out of top right side.

where you see the steam use electrical tape over that area and see if it stops.it does sound like a seal problem but another thing to check is to make sure the unit is level.
