Help, fix the error code of Kiyocera Photocopy Machine "match the position of envelope switches"

Previous FIXYA question had two suggested answers:

match envelope switches error message cannot remove it cannot bypass it...

Open the back side of the printer. There are 2 buttons for the envelope. Switch them so that they are at the same position for normal paper. See also manual. It's described there. Posted on Sep 29, 2010

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts Posted on Sep 29, 2010

Having problem the machine showing E -1

yes it may be the lamp and also could be the thermal fuse within the lamp circuit and also could be the lens is not retuning correctly in home position or the mirrors in the back right to the lens also not in home position . try to take away the top glass , the black covers of the lens and switch on and check all these points.

if every thing is correctly located back the mach. will operate if error is still , ask the tech. to perform simulation 5-810

Envelope feed problems

The problem is due to the type of envelope materials you are attempting to print on. The envelope stock (paper) is much too thin or lightweight. This is the primary cause of the wrinkling.

I would suggest that you switch to a heavier envelope material, but try to stay away from linen envelopes, as these will tend to wear down the fuser mechanism faster that normal. Most printers and copiers all have this classic problem.

I worked as a design engineer for Kyocera-Mita America for nearly 6 years and have seen this problem many times over and the only available solution is to change the stock. I (KMA) did work with a company in Canada who developed a specialized mass envelope feeder system for many of our systems. However they made major design changes to the feed mechanisms and feed roller pressure to deal with lighter stock materials.

Hope this information helps you out.

Printing envelopes

If you look closely at the very front of the paper tray, just to the left of the sliding thing that keeps the paper from drifting out of the front, you will see a couple of illustrations showing how to position envelopes in the paper feeder. For regular letter-sized envelopes, or even greeting card envelopes, place them face down with the top of the envelope pointing to the left as you are facing the printer. The return address area should be away from you. Position the envelope all the way to the right side of the paper feeder, then gently slide the envelope all the way back until it is stops so that it is accessible by the paper feeder. Bear in mind that it will be flipped over when it comes out. To avoid wasting an envelope, do a trial print on a piece of paper to make sure you understand the positioning correctly. Good luck!
