Question about Dryers

Dryer will not shut off on its own

Roper REL4632BQ1

Dryer will not shut off on its own. We have replaced the timer on the unit but that didn't correct the problem. Prior to the dryer not shutting off while on low heat it would stop but the nob control would contiue to time through the fluff cycel.

Roper dryer doesn't stop

Hi frank_kleins...
Sounds like your timer is faulty...replace, they are not rebuildable.
When you go to replace the timer, be sure to buy the same kind, and remove one wire at a time and replace one wire at a time that way you will not get confused with the replacement

I have Roper Dryer #RED 4340sq1 the dryer can run all day it will heat up the wash room , but the will not be dry. The timer will remain at the same setting, so I replaced the timer with a new one and I...

Okay so the timer is not advancing in any cycle? if so its a bad clock on the back of your timer I know you put a new timer in the unit but I have seen them brand new and something be broke out the box with parts. after that or if the timer advances in the timed dry cycle its definitely a venting problem or a power issue need to make sure the vent is installed correctly no more than a 90 degree bend in the pipe and you don't want the vent hose longer than 4 feet hope this helps. If it still not drying correctly I would recommend you having a qualified service technician come to your home and inspect it to save you some time and money but hope this helps.

The timer control does not work. Dryer continues to run. The control timer does not advance dryer does shut by it self.

Open the top of the dryer and check to see if any wires have come off the timer. If they have not, then replace the timer. Below is a video and parts link you may need.

Timer not ticking,not starting

Hi. This will be the result of a failed timer motor. This mechanism is the main initiator of the unit. The unit will not operate properly, in this state. Proper current will not be directed correctly, due to the failed timer motor. The motor provide the forward advancement of the dial plate across the cogs. This is vital to optimal dryer functions.

The timer module must be replaced. Once replaced, the unit will return to its normal operating status.

NOTE_ Your door switch is not the culprit. The timer has failed.

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.

Roper dryer won't shut off

The timer motor isn't moving the timer. You'll need to replace the timer. Turning the timer **** to off should stop the machine.
Exception: If the shutting the door automatically starts the motor, then the start switch/relay is probably shorted.
