The reason you are loosing all of your presets, clock & eq settings is because the 12volt constant is not hooked up properly. The red wire in the harness needs to be hooked up to 12 volt consant. The yellow wire needs to be hooked up to a ignition source. By taking these two steps, you should have normal operation and preset retention.

There should be no code for this radio. Check all of your fuses and make sure you are getting power to both the red and yellow wires if you can.

Hi, your factory Sunfire wire colors are pasted below. The yellow wire should be accessory. This should connect to the stereo's red power wire. The orange "always hot" wire should connect to the stereo yellow wire--this is only used to keep your station presets in memory. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Unlock radio code

Assuming that you have the original Clarion radio, the code should have been provided by the original owner. If not, you might be able to get it from a Saab dealer by way of the VIN lookup.
Assuming you have the correct code (of four digits I believe), the entry drill is as follows:
  1. turn on the ignition,
  2. depress the radio power switch once,
  3. depress the DNR switch and keep it depressed throughout the rest of the procedure,
  4. key in your code number using the station preset keys (1 through 6)
  5. after last digit is entered, release the DNR switch and unit should operate
If you make an error entering the digits, simply release the DNT switch re-press it and start entering the digits from the beginning.

Have Clarion DB148R cd car stereo but no wiring diagram

matching colors are the speakers, red it the accesory, needs to be hooked up to an alternating current, something that works with the ignitions, this will turn the sterio on and off, yellow is 12 volt or memory, constant power, blue is a remote wire for an amp. black is a ground wire and orange is normally an illumination wire, so when you dim your dash lights your stereo also dims.
