Question about Westinghouse Electric L2210NW Monitor

Open Question

Control buttons on side of L2210NW monitor quit working

The control buttons on my L2210NW monitor will suddenly quit working. To get them to work I have to actually unplug the monitor. That seems to cause another problem. I wait for a while, plug the monitor back in and then the resolution becomes HUGE. I can then use the controls on the side but everything is set right. So then I turn off the monitor with the control buttons since they are working now and then wait, turn it back on and everything goes back to the right size.......

Why does this happen?

SOURCE: My Westinghouse lcd monitor L2210NW does not turn

anngallant, Yes, I, and all the other "LCD CCFL back-lit monitor" repair guru's on fixya already know what your L2210NW suffers from. You will do a DIY repair to the monitor's SMPS/inverter circuit board, or contract out the work to a qualified electronics technician, or do a cash+trade for a refurbished unit, or trade-in for new monitor. Do NOT attempt the first two "IDEAS" without an extensive speed reading session of the FIXYA profiles of "budmrtn", "buddymc", and other tech's that deal with the very common single cause of black or black and blank screen lcd failure and what it takes to repair/refurbish them! You can also (FYI) do the YOUTUBE thing and view some of the longer and more informative video clips on "LCD monitor disassembly" , "LCD monitor repair". Some are pretty good! Good luck with your unit, whatever route you take. I'm 12fixlouie on fixya.

SOURCE: the resolution on my disply suddenly went HUGE and I have tried various resolutions, and the only one that seemd to work is 1699 x 1024 at 76Hz but the size of the font is too small.

click start control panel, display, desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list
or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system

also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size, larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes

on the top of the internet page you should see some tabs file edit view favourites tools and help click on the view tab on the drop down list you should see a zoom size %

click a different percentage also a text size you might try a different text size although this will not increase the size of the page only the text fonts inside it

if you do not see these tabs in the top toolbar

right click in the top toolbar you will see a number of toolbars and options select the menu tab this will add at it to the toolbar

hope this helps
