-try a battery checker... hp has one of these for my laptop.
-also try a new charging cord, after you see if it is only when the computer is unplugged.

Will start but u have to kick start it

Your'e lucky to have a kick start wish I had one. I gather you have both electric and kick on your bike. If the bike starts and runs OK using the kick start, I would suggest either your battery is failing to hold charge and/or not being charged while the engine is running.

First access the battery and put a volt meter across the terminals, without the engine running the voltage should be about 12.5 to 13 volts for a 12 volt system and 6 to 6.5 volts for a 6 volt one. Now start the engine by the kicker when warm open the throttle slowly and watch the meter. you should see the reading increase to about 14.4 volts (12 volt) and about 7.5 volts (6 volt). If no increase then get the alternator and regulator/rectifier checked out. If the meter is showing a voltage increase across the battery then the revs are increased, then the charging system is working
Next remove battery please always use this method: - remove negative lead first then positive. Check the battery fluid level if you can (modern batteries are sealed for life in most cases and you cannot open or check the fluid level them). The level should be at full for all cells fill with distilled water as necessary. You need to get a charger that will charge your battery below 1 amp (car chargers are no good they will fry the plates). If the battery will accept a charge, charge for as long as possible. Refit to bike please use this method connect positive lead first then negative. Try the starter if it tries to crank but the engine still won't start then I would get a new battery. Hope this helps & good luck.

Car won't start. it tries to turn over, but just doesn't .battery replaced several months ago so it's not that. The red "GEN" light pops up. Is that the generator signal? Manual doesn&

Interesting. They haven't used generators in over 50 yrs.
But yes that was the warning light for the generator.
If you have a volt meter that would tell you what the system is doing.
If the engine will not crank, and the battery is fully charged, you would need to check the connections at the starter for voltage and ground.
And the red warning lights would normally come on until the engine starts.

My laptop is completely dead, fine yesterday. Today no lights, sounds nothing. I tried removing the battery , unplugging no response. Thanks,

Remove the battery for at least 3 minutes... Then put it back and then plug in the charger and switch on the charger. If the battery is completely drained, it would take a while for the charging to initiate. Please have patience and leave it on charging even though without the charging indication for at least an hour. After that still if the charging indicator doesn't lit, then its definitely your charger or laptop. You will need to take it to a service centre in that case.

Hello I have this Nikon Camera (N55) and it just wont turn on. A few months back it worked and now it doesn't. I have the right batteries and film so I was just wonderig if there was anything I could...

I'm sorry that the Camera is not turning ON. Please follow the below troubleshooting steps and check the operation:
  1. Please make sure that battery is fully charged.
  2. If the battery is not used for a while, it is possible that it may be damaged or completely discharged even if it was charged fully before. Hence charge the battery again and check the operation.
  3. Remove and Reinsert the battery and check the operation.
  4. Try with a different battery. If the issue persists with new fully charged battery, service may be required. You can click hear to setup a service for the Camera.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require further assistance.

Meron power pero ayaw mag on

Hi arcymiguel,

If you see power lights but nothing appears on the screen, it could be a "POST" (Power-on Self Test) problem or simply LCD problem.

Here are some steps that you can try.

1. Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to drain electric charges left from the system. (You may need to repeat this step to get it work.)

2. If above step doesn't work, try to plug in an external monitor and see if you get display from the external monitor. You may need to press the Fn + F4 or F5, depends on the key designed on the keyboard to toggle between displays.

3. If you get display from the external monitor, I'm sure your having problem with the LCD components. In this case, check and replace faulty LCD backlight, LCD cable or LCD inverter. The LCD inverter is often a culprit.

4. Try to reinsert the memory module/s (RAM) of the unit, try using one RAM at a time to see if it works. A faulty RAM will cause the issue not to POST.

5. If reinserting the RAM doesn't help, most likely your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

My camera will not power up at all, My Batery is full charged. Christmas is looming and I need a camera. HELPPPP!

Try this: with camera power switch in the "ON" position, remove the battery. Then press and hold the shutter release for approximately 30 seconds. Turn power switch "OFF", reinsert battery and turn back on.
Look on bottom of camera for a very small Hardware reset switch. If one ther, turn camera on and press for about 2 seconds.

My hp 2100 presario laptop in not booting

Startup problems
If the notebook doesn’t respond when you turn it on
• Connect the AC adapter.
• Reset the notebook by inserting the tip of a paper clip into the reset button on the
bottom of the notebook. Then press the power button to turn it on.
• If the notebook still doesn’t respond, remove the battery and AC adapter, remove
any PC cards, and undock the notebook if docked. Then plug in the AC adapter
again, and reset the notebook using the reset button.
If the notebook won’t boot from battery power
• Make sure the battery is properly inserted and fully charged. Check the battery
charge by removing it and pressing the pad on the side of the battery. The lights
show the charge level.
• If available, try another battery.
If the notebook won’t boot from the floppy disk drive
• Make sure the floppy disk drive is selected as the boot device.
• If you’re using a USB floppy drive, use the BIOS Setup utility to make sure
Legacy USB Support is enabled. If your notebook also has a built-in floppy
drive, use the BIOS Setup utility Boot menu to make sure the USB floppy drive
is the first device under Removable Drive.
If the notebook stops responding after booting
Check whether you are connected to a TCP/IP network with no DHCP server. This
can cause a long delay at startup because DHCP is enabled. Contact your network
administrator to determine the proper TCP/IP configuration

***IF THE NOTEBOOK HAS POWER BUT WONT BOOT INTO OPERATING SYSTEM-
Press F2 when you start it to enter BIOS to check your BOOT ORDER to make sure your HD is listed first on the list.
If it is not listed remove it and reinsert it and then try again.. GREAT LUCK!! Please Rate Me, K? Thanks- Lucky4lynn2

My HP DV1000 will not start.

You have a power issue. The board is not charging the system or the battery. If you know someone with a similar model, ask them if you can borrow their battery and see if your system boots with it. If it does, you may need a new adapter or the power board in the notebook is out. When you remove the battery and try it, there's enough juice to power it up for the moment, but not sustain it.

Laptop will not run while plug into the electrical system

Worst case is you need a another motherboard because the power supply unit and charging unit are on the motherboard. Then again it could be the DC power jack on the motherboard is loose and needs replacing. The website below is a link to a ebay site that sells these power jacks.
http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Thinkpad-T30-T30p-DC-power-jack_W0QQitemZ200216009749QQihZ010QQcategoryZ158847QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

Also is an ebay site for T30 motherboards.
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=t30+motherboard

If your good with tools you can replace these parts yourself. Below is the IBM website where you can download the service manual in pdf.format and fix it yourself without taking it to a computer repair shop.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-42308

If this helps, Please leave a positive rating.
Thanks,
Ray
