Kp46wt500 covergence problem

I have the same tv I replaced the two IC chips provided in the kit.Repair went well but I still have the same exact problem. I did not check or replace any resistors or fuses yet. I can not find any convergance adjustment menu using my original remote.Flash focus button does not help. Also when turning tv on the led will flash six times at one rate then one real fast flash,is this a fault code of six or seven?

Check the fuses. If a convergence amp goes out, usually one or both fuses go as well.
I'd check the power resistors in the vicinity for opens as well.

Looking to buy a new IC kit for my 43FDX01B, but I'm having trouble on which kit I actually need. The kit recommend here is X480293, but the kit listed that matches my TVs model number is X480296. Can...

first, I would not buy a "kit"; prices on these range from 40 to 80 dollars and most of the parts are not going to be needed.

See attached photo of convergence board in a set like yours.

You can look at the two chips in your set: either they are STK-392-110 OR -150--BOTH ARE THE SAME BUT THE 150 LASTS LONGER.

In either case you can buy on EBAY (A seller I use) a pair of the chips for about 12 dollars.

About the only other thing that goes bad is there may be damaged resistors around one of the chips--usually just one but they are easy to spot and or test (see photos)

No matter how you add it up you can buy the parts you need for under 25 dollars including shipping.

If the photos and information I have provided helped you, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

My panasonic PT-47wxc43g projection tv has developed shrinkage in the middle of the screen on both the top and bottom. The picture has an hourglass on its side appearance. The picture is now also too large...

This could be a problem in the convergence board which will cost of repair would range 400.00 or so.
You can get the convergence repair kit at the following link which contains the parts and step by step detailed instructions.

no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! The kit comes with original Sanyo STK IC’S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made IC’S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases,

sounds like you have bad convergence ic's

HD 1080 Series (WD-55809) - Color convergence issue

I don't know of illustrated instructions but I can provide you with the service manual for your TV. It does have illustrations of disassembly and components as well as schematics. Your set very likely needs new convergence IC chips. This is a common problem with all projection TVs. The repair is not expensive ($60-75 in parts)  but does involve unsoldering and removing the old chips and soldering in new ones. Some times there are some fuses that need to be replaced as well. If you want the manual provide me with an email address.

I have a Sony KP-61V60. I seem to have a problem with the color covergance where my screen looks almost 3D with the red sticking out. What do I need to do to repair this myself? How do I know if my RGB...

If you go into the customer menu and select CONVERGENCE and red or blue will not adjust in some direction you have a Convergence circuit problem.

Most of these sets use two STK-392-110 or STK-292-560 CONVERGENCE ic chips.

Both chips need to be replaced. If convergence will not adjust you do not have a bad "bulb" these sets use three picture tubes--red, green, and blue and the convergence circuit "converges the three pictures".

Usual parts cost total is under 30 dollars if you buy the parts on Ebay--there are places on the net that sell kits for 70 or more---they contain the pair of chips and other parts that may be needed--from my point of view they are a waste of money as most of these sets just need the two chips replaced--some will need a bad resistor around one of the chips located and replaced as well--on Ebay you can buy a pair of whatever chips the set uses for under 20 dollars including shipping.

Right now the site where I research these models for exact part numbers is down but I can help if you have some skill at soldering and want to fix it yourself. Most shops are going to get 300 or more for this type of repair.

Let me know if you have questions or need help.

Covergence and Bowed Picture Problem

can you adjust any color of convergence in user menu blue, or red up or down left or right. if you can make any up or down left or right adjustments on any color then the likelihood it wont be a convergence ic. it would be a output resistor. so see if you can get any movement. with it being bowed i was suspect an convergence ic.
