Question about Hampton Bay 24750 Huntington III Ceiling Fan
Make sure you don't get a "Light" dimmer or allow anyone to talk you into using one for a motor speed control, they are not designed to handle the current and voltage requirements of a motor and will usually last a while and make lots of noise and then "let the magic smoke out". Good luck.

If you are using a dimmer switch to operate the fan instead of a fan speed controller, that is the cause of the humming. If you turn down the speed to the lowest setting and the hum gets louder, then your controller needs to be replaced.
