Question about Sharp XG-C60X Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Help!! I have a sharp xg-c60 projector?when on, it casts a slight, faint ? horizontal wave/line (discolor) at a slow pace upwards. It is mounted to the ceiling, upside down, While mounted and changing the setting to ?regular-mount?, the wave/lines travel downwards. I recently replaced the bulb. Reset it and changed the air-filter. Checked the RCA video cables and s-video cable?.they were all good. I took the bulb back out, tried resetting it again. The problem still exists. It only does this when video is passing through. Picture perfect when switched to ?still? background image. My Auto Sync betton displays "invalid button pressed". The best way for me to describe this is that is is giving the appearance of a VCR's tracking being slightly off.Any Suggestions? All will be greatly appreciated. Thanx, kriserik

first...I am not a wiz ..and this is what I have done.... (1) I have not tried a lap-top in another input (2) I have tried using a S-Video Cable (3) exchanging the RCA VIdeo cables (4) a different Cox Cable box (5) a different DVD Player....I did tried all of this on a different projector....the same result...faint -out-of-track lines, on both projectors. On the RCA's, I am using female to female adapters to route the 18-25 feet of cable...I get the same result with the s-video cable. Could defective cables be my problem?????

I replaced the lamp in my Sharp XG-E3500U and there is lines in the picture now. How do I solve this problem?

mostly, this is caused by a default of the lcd screen inside, if so, you must replace it, if your model is using 3 lcd screen, open the cover, disconnnect one of them , run the projector, if you don't see lines, power off, reconnect it and disconnect the second, till you see the lines, so you can localise the default one. you also can try to check the lcd screen connector, disconnect, clean, reconnect

Replaced bulb in Sharp XG-E1200U, the red power light comes on, when I turn the switch on nothing happens.

When the XG-E1200U shows the standby light but does not power on, it usually means several of the 100uf 16 Volt surface mount capacitors have dried up on the main board. Recommend replacing all of these for continued reliability.

Sharp xg-e850u projector owners manual

I've searched all over...heh, I've got TONS of Sharp service manuals but *not* yours...I did find, however, the xg-e650 manuals on Sharp units, a lot of times, are very similar in architecture, functions, parts, etc. For example, practically any Sharp remote will work on your projector...BTW, the lamp you need is a BQC-XGE850U/1 and sells for $292-389 dollars.;lst

Image problem

IF I understand the problem from the limited info in your question, the problem is a distorted picture on whatever surface [probably a wall, or screen] onto which the image is projected.

With all lenses, the axis [centerline of the lens projected] MUST be absolutely PERPENDICULAR [in both the vertical and horizontal planes] to the perfectly plane [flat] surface onto which the image is projected.

IF for example, the projector is mounted in a rear corner of the room, and the camera is aimed downward and to one side to project the image on the center of the opposite wall, or a screen located there, the image will be distorted. It will be larger on one edge [fartherist from the lens] and smaller on the opposite [nearest] edge.

If it is non-perpendicular in only one axis, then two opposite edges will be different lengths, and if out of perpendicular in two axis then no edges will be the same length.

The solution to this problem is that the center axis of the lens must be perpendicular to the surface projected on, in both vertical and horizontal axis.
