Screws pulled out -- Storm door - door site (not the wall facing)

Screws pulled out -- We have a storm door, full view glass, it is metal. The screws have pulled out from the door side hinge. We've tried larger screws, but the head is larger and doesn't allow the door to shut completely. Is there anything that can be put into the old screw hole to secure the screw? (We tried steel wool)

You can purchase plastic anchors at any building supply or hardware store. All you need to do is buy the proper size and then use a hammer to insert them into the old hole. Once installed screw the screws in and everything should work like original. Hope this helps.

How to remove the retainer strips in a Larson full-view storm door. I want to switch out the screen for the glass.

Use a thin blade like a small spackle knife to get between the door frame and the retaining strip and GENTLY pry it out at the top or bottom and then carefully work the rest of the strip out. This may also help.

Door sticks terribly...

First check to make sure that the hinges are securely fastened to the door jamb. Gently try to tighten all screws but be careful not to over-tighten or strip the screw heads. It's possible loose screws could be causing the door to hang slightly making it fit improperly into the door jamb.

It's also possible that the door frame isn't 100% "true" and it could be causing the storm door to get caught along the top or bottom edge. You can check with a level to make sure that both sides of the door are plumb (perfect 90 degree angle). You can also use a carpenter's square to check that all of the interior angles in the door jamb are 90 degrees respective to each other.

If everything is square then it could be that the hinges on the storm door are not aligned properly. With the storm door slightly ajar use a level on the vertical edge both at the top and the bottom. It should, ideally, be the same as the door jamb. If it's slightly off you could try shimming either the top or bottom hinge as necessary to even the storm door until it is aligned with the door jamb.

If you find that your door jamb is not "true" then you may need to consult with a carpenter or storm door installation expert to find a way to trim your storm door or refit it for easy opening and closing. Many older homes settle over time and sometimes door jambs slip out of alignment. The door itself may still open and close as usual but it may have sufficient gaps on all sides to prevent it from getting stuck. The newer storm door may be too tight a fit and catching on a door jamb that has settled out of true.

How do i fix the storm door so it actually closes and can be locked?

Ok first things first
The door closer should be on top of your door not on the bottom
2nd your door striker screws are not counter sinked in all the way which will damage your door
3rd your door is not square or the door frame is put of wack square
Put a tape measure on top right to bottom left and see what measurement you get and then do opposite cnr to corner to check to see if it is the same It should be the same
If its out of square try to take the dpor off put it on some saw horses and loosen all the screws then pull it into square then tightening the screws until its square n tight
If the door is straight try to check if the door frame is square
Pull those screws out of the door lock strike and put smaller but longer screws in it so the heads of the screws are flush not exposed like they are now

How do I replace the inner glass on the oven door? I have taken the door off and it is apart, but the glass assembly looks to be one piece. How do I remove just the inner glass for replacement? JenW30400W

moz-screenshot-7.jpgmoz-screenshot-8.jpgTo replace the door glass do the following:
0 Check if there is a hinge stop bracket located at the hinge point of entry on the oven, in that case remove it.
1 remove the oven door by pulling it up and removing from the the hinges. If glass is broken , then secure glass with tape. Have a table with a cloth on top ready to lay the door.
2 Remove the outer screws , starting from lower side of the panel.
3Removethe inner screws. Keep all set of screws ordered, and take note of theorder you remove them. You will follow reverse order in reassembly.
4 the frame will be free now,
5 Remove the external glass panel and leave it in a safe place.
6 Replace the inner glass.
7 Clean outer glass and metal door, re-assemble it and mount it back

Splatters between the screen and the glass on the microwave door

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams for most brands by entering your full model number here.

Those diagrams should show if the screen is glued onto the glass, etc. If so, it makes it harder to clean.

Cleaning Oven Door Glass inside face

First take the two inside screws out, (found at the top of the door) they will pop out when you have both sides off so make sure to take them all the way out so you dont lose a washer or one of the screws. The handle is actually secured by these 2 screws and will come off of the door when you remove them.. your metal door can bend slightly in this process, so be careful. as soon as the handle and screws are off you can clean inside of the 2 pieces of glass, also a good time to clean off the opposite side of the door behind the handle. only take the 2 screws off no need to remove the full door. I used a magic eraser to remove the grease and then I cleaned the glass with glass cleaner. I used a small vice to secure the door when putting the handle back on, but you could have someone to hold the piece togeather for you too. (I have a frigidaire stainless steel model)

Removal from a motorhome

We regularly repair the circuit boards of microwave which are hit by storm surges, etc.

This repair usually runs $39.95 to $64.95, depending on if we have to replace the low power transformer. I just thought I'd mention this if you're interested.

But if you've decided on replacing it, the installation manual should be helpful in removing it from the wall. See it here.

You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view or print it.

Remove Outer Glass Of Oven Door

On my Zanussi ZDF 866 it goes like this:-

Rest the door with its top edge on your work surface. Once the bottom two screws are removed, pull the outer glass away from the bottom edge of the door just enough so that the brackets fixed to the outer glass (into which those two screws went) clear the bottom edge of the door. Then pull the outer glass up towards you parallel to the door (there are now screws hoplding the top edge on this model).

It may need one side to be pulled and then the other to release it from the metal slot at the bottom.

I would recommend great care with this given that a) your door may be different, b) it could be held more tightly and c) you are dealing with glass. Recommend taking all precautions including eye protection and suitable gloves. Proceed slowly and carefully (this did not need much force on my door). If you're not sure at any stage, choose discretion and either give up or pay someone to do the job to avoid paying for a new glass or hurting yourself.
Hope this may help someone.
