Can I clear the memory of all stations so that I can do a complete restart on tuning. I seem to have lost quite a lot of the channels I used to have and when I re scan it doesnt seem to find any more than I already have.

Have you checked the frequency of that Station?
Also check your aerial.
I have also found this: Listeners to DAB digital radio in the Merseyside area will need to retune on Wednesday 20th April following a frequency change that will affect local radio stations.
The local DAB multiplex carrying BBC Merseyside, Radio City 1-3 and Capital Liverpool among others will be moving to a new frequency in order to allow better reception over a wider area. The current frequency will be turned off late on Tuesday 19th April. The new frequency will go live from 6am on Wednesday 20th April, after which listeners will need to rescan their DAB radios in order to continue listening.
Hi, Thanks for writing to Fixya.com. Although the DAB signals are less prone to interference, they're currently weaker than FM signals, which can cause problems if you're in a fringe reception area .Please check into this. Moreover DAB radio stations are "compressed", so that lots of stations can be squeezed into the available bandwidth. Because of this compression, some stations on DAB are not in as good a quality and you are getting repetition issues. Thanks for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.
Original manual found - note the Model No. is listed as SC-EN38DB i.e. complete system (main unit = SA-EN38DB; speakers = SB-EN38; remote control = N2QAYB000245):
"Press and hold (PLAY MODE) until 2DAB AUTO SCAN' appears. When a frequency is tuned by Auto scanning on this unit, the ensemble corresponding to the frequency is displayed for approximately 2 seconds"
Planet rock is quite a small networking station and its outgoing signal is not all that good. Some personal radios simply just havent been made good enough to find a station with such low radio waves. You may just need to buy another or findout over the net the signal of planet rock or weather they've closed down or not.
This is SwannerX and I have solved the problem by locating the DAB radio receiver to a higher position ( some 6ins. higher only ) and orienteering the aerial in an opposite direction.
All 25 stations now tune O.K. and signal quality still reads in the high 90's and signal strength shows 9-10 bars. This is not substantially any more , but it has done the trick!!!
I am still very puzzled why it would not work again in the original position where it has worked well for many years.
Obviously DAB requires a good strong signal as I am living very close to the transmitter at Mounteagle in the Black Isle and the set is upstairs in the house to achieve the highest signal into the set's whip aerial.
Another annoying query I can give you is this :- Every time I do a full AutoTune operation on the DAB receiver , it ALWAYS comes ON tuning BBC Asian 1st. so that station comes up as a 'Favorite' on the Radio's screen. No matter how many other stations I select and listen to for at least 20secs. say, the BBC Asian one STILL is listed as a FAV.
Is this a peculiarity of the Sharp design or a function of the transmission system?
Maybe this BBC Asian is on the first freq. the DAB Radio scans, but I would have thought it would come ON every time with the last station which was selected before it was switched OFF.
What do you think ???
Just bought the same unit but the instruction manual was double dutch. After messing around for a while I managed to do it like this. Whe the unit is set to DAB, Press the Sel+/TU+ or the Sel-/TU- button on the unit (not the remote) until the DAB station displays and then press the Select CH+ button again on the unit. Wait a few seconds while the word "tuning" is displayed and that station should now play. To save the station as a preset do this. When the station is playing use the remote and press the PRG/MEM button once. Then press the number for which preset you want that station to be. The station will be saved. EG to save Radio 1 as Preset station 1, play Radio 1, Press PRG/MEM, then press number 1. After that whenever you press number 1 on the remote Radio 1 will play. Do the same with any other station you wish to save. To save station 10 press the 0/10 button on the remote. To save station 11 press 10+ then 1, 12 is 10+ the 2 etc. Good luck Dopeyemma
