Keyboard stopped working hp pavillion g4-1117dx

First of all what happened to it was there a driver update for the keyboard. Sometimes when you let Windows update the system it will do awkward things such as change certain drivers. What you can do is get a USB keyboard or a USB PS/2 converter if you're using PS/2 keyboards then you can just connect to the USB and then connect that to the laptop. If that works then you have to buy a replacement keyboard for your laptop. If you have the manual to the laptop you can follow the instructions how to open up and replace your keyboard.

That should solve the problem.

SHIFT KEY FOR HP PAVILLION FELL OFF HOW TO REPLACE PLEASE

I am sorry to inform you that this issue is hardware malfunctioning of the keyboard. The laptop keys are inter related to each other. So there is no option to fix the single key for your notebook. You need to change the entire keyboard of the notebook.

It sounds like you need to replace the keyboard. Replacing the keyboard is not difficult or you can take it to a repair center. Parts can be ordered online from HP or aftermarket vendors.

HP Pavillion ze4400 can this laptop use an external mouse & keyboard ?

Any external USB mouse can be connected to the system. As well as USB keyboard. Or specifically if you go through HP, the mouse part number is: NR152AA, and keyboard is GM321AA. As far as non-HP products you will need to check on compatibility on each. Hope this helps you in this question.
