What printer are you using? Many printers cannot print two-sided or duplex printing. If your printer cannot handle duplex printing, you'll need to do what's called "manual" duplex. Print one page then reinsert the paper and print the second page. Test this on cheap paper first to determine if you need to insert the paper printed side up and which way (if any) you'll need to roate the page.

I don't have your exact configuration but I found a comment from another user that was able to successfully get the duplex printing to work and yes, your printer can handle duplex.

"Getting the automatic duplex of our printer working took a bit of a while [as the printer wizard didn't offer anything for this option], but this was eventually done in Start, Printers, right-click Properties under Windows XP, and switch on auto-duplex there. Once set up, the automatic duplex printing works perfectly. The Windows 'Printer Properties' can be accessed for full control when printing cards though, via a Card Studio menu button. " From http://astore.amazon.co.uk/scientific-21...

The nice thing about setting up the printer for auto-duplex by default is that you will save money in printer ink for anything else you print. For example, printing multiple page Word documents will now print duplex by default. If you have a document in Word or another program that you decide you don't want in duplex, when you go to print, click on Properties and you can modify it there.

INSTALLING A NETWORK PRINTER
These instructions generally apply to all network printers with built-in network cards (print servers) such as HP Laserjet printers, IBM Infoprint laser printers etc.
This example is for a network HP Laserjet printer.
To install a HP printer (with built-in Jetdirect print server) as a network printer you need to do the following -
1. Open the printer’s menu and enable the Network Card – these print servers use a static IP address therefore, configure the IP address of the network card so it matches the IP range of your network. Eg. If your IP's are 192.168.0.xxx then set the network card to a high number say 100. (This is to prevent a conflict with the router issuing the same IP address to a computer on your network).

Then set the Subnet Mask IP address to 255.255.255.0
If you have a wireless router then check the IP address range that the router issues to the computers on your network and configure the static IP address in the printer’s network configuration accordingly.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer with a LAN cable to the network hub/router.
4. Click on Printers and Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP's printer IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bi-directional support and then OK

Install the HP printer driver on every computer on your network and configure the printer’s TCP/IP port as previously detailed.

Do a test print page to check the printer.
You can now print from any computer on your network.

Im getting a fault message on my xerox phaser 8550 it comes up as fault:02,008,67:86362

There is a problem with your configuration card.

p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }

Remove and Re-insert the Configuration Card

  • Power OFF the printer using the power switch. The power switch is located behind the interface cover on the right side of the printer.

  • Disconnect the power cord from the electrical wall outlet.

  • Open the interface cover and locate the Configuration Card

  • Remove and make sure the Configuration Card is properly orientated. The Xerox image should face the rear of the printer with the chip inserted into the printer first.

  • CAUTION: Do not touch the chip.

  • Slide the Configuration Card into the printer.

  • Connect the power cord into the electrical wall outlet.

  • Power ON the printer.

  • Close the interface cover.

  • Print a Configuration Page to confirm the installation was successful. See the Related Items below for additional information.

If this doesn't work you'll probably need a new card.

Hope this helps ;)

I need to print the page that shows the ip of the hp 4100 printer, how do i do that

Print a configuration page. Press the Menu key until you see Information menu, press the item key until you see print configuration, then press the select key. A configuration page will print and you will also obtain the network information, unless there is a problem with the network card or circuit.

How do i set ip address for new jet direct card on hp 4600 dn

Go here for the manual cause it's a bit hard to walkthrough. When the printer is on and ready, you want to click the menu button and scroll though to the configuration menu -> i/o menu. You can print a configuration age to see what the current address of the jetdirect card is. If you're comfortable with command line, you cna use telnet to connect to the jetdirect card and configure it that way.

Need to install network printer to DLink Router

It has been a few months, so you probably have resolved this -- but just in case someone else is looking to find out the IP address on the internal print server of an HP Laserjet 4000n printer so they can set it up on their network, here are the steps to find the IP address on the HP JetDirect internal print server:

1. Have the Ethernet cable plugged in to the router and the JetDirect 600n card and power it on.
2. Make sure display screen on printer says "Ready".
3. Press the Menu button on the printer until you see Information Menu.
4, Press the Item button on the right (+) side until you see Print Configuration page.
5. Press the Select button and a configuration page should print.

One page is the printer's configuration and the other page is the print server configuration page. If you have a good JetDirect card, and good connection to your router, the IP address of the printer, plus its subnet mask and default gateway should be shown on the EIO configuration page.

If the printer has been manually set with a static IP address, subnet mask and default gateway that will not work on your network, you will see the settings will indicate "Configured by" User Specified.

To clear those settings and allow DHCP setting, perform a cold reset on the JetDirect card, by powering off the printer, holding down the green "Go" button and powering it back on until you see "COLD RESET," let go of the green Go button, wait a couple of minutes, then run another configuration page to see the freshly assigned DHCP address of the print server.

Hope this helps someone.

Networking imagerunner 2200

First, plug the printer into the network with an Ethernet cable. Then, go into the configuration page on the printer's display and print a configuration page. Look for the IP address. When you have that, go to the computers that need to connect to the printer. (Note that this tutorial is for Windows XP, I am not familiar with Vista but this should give you a basic overview.) Go to Start > Printers and Faxes. Click add a printer on the left hand side of the window. Select a Local printer attached to this computer, and unselect automatically detect. On the next page, click create a new port > TCP/IP port. Type in the IP address of the printer. Then choose the driver you are going to use, you should be able to find the IR 2200 driver under canon pretty easily. If not, go to canon.com and download their drivers. Once you do this, print a test page and it should print. You are then fully configured.

Please rate, Thanks!

Blank Pages

The probability is that the new print server is either configured for a longer "page" than the cross match card.

There are different ways to fix this and it really depends on the application used to print the cards.

My first suggestion would be to fix the print server - followed by setting the page size in the application and finally configuring the form length for the profile you are using in the printer - the application settings usually take precedence over the other two, but I have found when using Windows server to drive the printer that Windows dictates the form size and a custom form may need to be created.
