Put about three or four drops of eucalypt oil into your dishwasher and put it on a wash cycle - you don't need to use the drying cycle. Then is should smell beautifully. It's probably just the newness of the machine with seals and parts all giving off the smell. If that doesn't work contact the dealer and get them to find out what it is. After all you paid good money for it.
Good Luck

My dishwasher is 2 mos. old and sells like a cross between dead fish and rotten eggs. I tried all their trouble shooting techniques. Called them today and they told me to try a dishwasher detergent with a Clorox component. Here I go adding a Clorox base to my new stainless steel dishwasher. I shall let you know if it clears it up. If not, they will send a tech out to see what the problem might be. My dishes, glasses and silverware retain the odor. It has been frustrating to say the least.

I hate to break it to you folks but the smell has not gone away. We have had the town water Dept. out here to check the water. No bacteria. Board of Health took a sample nothing new there. We figured as long as we leave the windows closed and suffocate ourselves, we have no problems with smell. Once you open the windows and the humidity hits the dishes or water in the dishwasher bam, swamp thing rears it's ugly head. Somewhere in my earlier life, I must have done something to a fish I had in a fish tank, and this is my just punishment. Now I wound't mind, if it were just me, but it is my daughter next door, and my daughter about 1/2 a mile across a field. Wonder if the field, that was a pig farm back in the day has something to do with it. Now my dog who spends quality time out doors in the backyard and get's walked smells like swamp, fish dog upon her return home. Enough to make me gag. So I think this is airborne. I may have to find a private lab and take a water sample and find someone to do an air quality sample. Anyone have some ideas on how to test the outdoor air? I'd sure appreciate the help. My brain is fried. I've tried everything that Samsung has asked of me. I've been on other sites as well and it seems this is not a flash in the pan problem. It is all over. So I am glad I am not unique, just darn annoyed that even when the weather is cool, the problem still persists. So this is the latest update. Notching has changed even thought summer is over fish smell and swamp thing has taken over my kitchen once again.

I have had the same problem with the Samsung. It smells toxic !! I'm worried about my baby being exposed to it. I am returning it tomorrow. We had to stay in a hotel because my entire house smelled of toxic chemicals. I'm so upset about the experience. I will never buy Samsung again.

This is normal for Samsung...The smell will last for a month or so, but will go away. I had the same problem, it is sort of a burn in process, similar to buying a new car. The first 200 miles, the engine smells of burning.

If you have your drain hose connected to a garbage disposal it it might be back filling into the dishwasher. Check the routing of the drain hose from the diswasher to make sure the line is installed properly. You want the line from the dishwasher to have an upward hump just before it attaches to the disposal. This will prevent drain water from the sink/garbage disposalfrom backfilling into the dishwasher. the hight of the hump should be above the bottom of the sink. a couple of zip ties losely wraped around the drain line to a screw works well.

That's an over-level water error. The case-break assembly is bad and needs to be replaced.

Samsung error E5

I don't know about a E5 error; are you sure it's not a 5E error? That means a drain error or "water not draining" error. Check the drain pump and drain hose for an obstruction. If that's okay, and the dishwasher drains water, then you probably have a bad ECS sensor.

My Samsung dishwasher model # DMR77LHS makes this terrible grinding noise when it is initially turned on & then 2-3 more times through the cleaning process.

Mine make a grinding noise also when the wash cycle starts. I had a repair guy over fixing my fridge and he said it was the washer motor. My machine has only been in use for 1-2 yrs. Other owners say that the tabs on the top rack break off and get lodged in the machine. hope this helps a little.

Samsung DMR77LHS Dishwasher has power to dishwasher, ciruit breaker is on. Lights on door will not light up, nothing will work

This does sound like a problem with the "anti-flood" device that does detect water (leak / spill) at the base of the washer. This device is a protection device that consists of a polystirene float and a micro swithch. Once a water leak od spill is detected it automatically puts the washer in pump out mode. You need to determine if a leak exists that has caused the float to trigger the micro switch and clear the water / leak. This should put the washer back to normal.
