viewsonic vx 715 the monitor turns off after 10secs through both vga and other cables on different pcs - the screen goes blank - when you turn the monitor off and on again the same thing happens - any suggestions on how to resolve - simon

- the comments i have seen on this is that the issue is likely to be around inverter transformers also the 2 1000uf 16V bulged caps near the inverter side of the board may need replacing or too check the soldering the bad soldering apparently is an issue with vx 715sSolution #1

Your monitor is probably shuttin off once something is heating up enough to cause the safety relay in its power supply board to shut it off. I find that once a monitor goes, just toss it, it isn't cost effective to try and have it repaired the

- Bulging caps are a common problem with a lot of Chinese electronics, they make crappy electrolytic capacitors. I fI had the monitor, I'd be able to repair irt myself. If you don't have that expertise, it will cost you more than its worth, not to say that the bad caps may have taken other components with it.Yes
