How do you change the band on Hotpoint Aquarius 100
Our washing machine hass stopped spinning and we have established the band needs replacing, just unsure of how to go about it s the back seems to be welded on?

Do you mean the drive belt? Is this a top loader? If so insert putty knife in seam between top and front panels to push on and release clips-one on either side. Front panel comes off to access components.

On most hotpoint wash machines you cant replace or grease the bearing you have to replace the whole drum which cost around 100 pounds from hotpoint and a couple of hours labour its a common problem on hotpoint machines.
hope this helps.

it sound like your belt has come off if not wait till its dark put it on spin turn the light off if you can see flashes coming from under the machine it your brushes that need replaced on the motor
normally i would suggest changing motor carbons for hotpoint washers, but my experience is that the WMA motor armature is weaker than the carbons, normally if there is no connection fault a replacement motor is the answer 9 times out of 10, not a job for the amature
