Question about Hotpoint  21.8 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator

Water on bottom shelf

My refrigerator gathers water at the bottom and then freezes to ice. I tried turning the temperature down and that seemed to work for a while and now I find water again at the bottom.

Your defrost drain is plugged the cup is located in the refrig. section

Water seems to be gathering and then dripping from under the control panel which is situated in the main fridge, on the back wall, behind the top shelf.

sounds like a bad plugged evaporator drain plug? which then freezes up and moister - water/ ice build up takes place in fridge

I have ice accumulation on the bottom shelf of my freeze of my Maytag side by side MSD2957DE. There seems to be water dripping down from the back inside panel. Is this something I can fix on my own

If you have an ice maker, or water dispenser turn off the water supply to the fridge temporarily, and see if the problem still exist. The solenoid water valves on some of these models accumulate mineral deposits and don't close completely after time, thereby leaking.

Water dripping in the refrigerator and freezes on the top shelf. It seems to be coming from the freezer compartment. There is a square piece of metal missing from the top of the main compartment. One can...

Removed everything from the freezes. Removed a false bottom from the freezer floor, 2 screws. There was an ice build up under this plastic bottom. I let the ice melt with the de-frost cycle (or frost free cycle). No more water dripping into the refrigerator compartment.

Water dripping from freezer onto top shelf of fridge with ice buildup back of freezer

the defroster isn't close enough to the drain to be effective. remove the back wall of the inside of the freezer, remove the excess ice. clear out the ice from the drain using hot water and a turkey baster. there is a kit from whirlpool that uses a piece of metal and a screw around the defrost rod, but I found out that a piece of 14 gauge solid core wire with the insulation stripped off works great too. stick the stripped wire into the drain, 2 to 3 inches, and wrap the rest around the defrost rod.

Water Leaking all over from Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I think that the seals are ruined when the seals are ruined the water will leak outside and inside beacause all of the heat from outside will gather together and will melt the ice and will make the moisture act up and boost the process of it turning to gas matter into liquid matter.

Crosley Servidor WCR17/E K3 Top Shelf and Drain Plug Freezes Over

first thing I would suggest is to flush the drain line. defrost any ice in the drain and then flush warm water thru the line until it flows freelyif  your having a hard time getting the line flushed out you may try using a large syringe or turrkey baster filled with warm water to forcfully flush water thru the line. this will most likely fix the problem.
you didnt mention if food was freezing in the refrig as well as the drain but there may be an off chance that the temperature control could be bad. since this is a manual defrost unit it depends on above freezing temps to help keep frost off of the cooling coil. if the temp control goes bad it will allow sub-freezing temps and possible drain freeze ups. so if the drain continues to freeze you will need to replace the temperature control.
if it comes to that, the control actually has a part number on it since maytag cant find your model number.
message me back if you have any further questions. thx peyton
