The video output on many portable computers toggles off and on with one of the function keys. Look for a function key with the image of a monitor on it, then hold down the Alt key and push the function key once or twice. It usually has several choices that you rotate through - computer monitor only, video out only (your screen goes blank) and both screen and video out.

How do you hook up the tv to a pc? I have the cable but I cannot get the tv to recognize the pc?

You will want to make sure that your TV is set to the same input that you are using to connect your PC to the TV. From the PC side, depending on whether you are using a laptop or a desktop PC, you will have to change the output so that the computer will output to the correct connecter.

If you are using a laptop, there is usually an F key that will allow you to switch from the built in display to either an external device, or both internal and external. The F key in question will usually have an icon on it that will look like a monitor screen. Pressing that F key at the same time as your Fn key should allow you to switch the outputs.

If you are using a desktop computer you will have to right click on a blank spot of your desktop and choose Display Properties from the menu that appears. You will then choose the Settings tab, and then the Advanced button. This should bring up your graphic cards control program. Again, depending on what type of graphic card you are using you should see a tab called Monitor. Some graphic cards will also have special tabs with a heading like Display or something similar. On this tab you should then be able to choose your output from the normal monitor you use to an external monitor. Your desktop will then start feeding the graphic signal through that output rather than the one you would normally use.

If this information doesn't quite resolve your issue please post another question but specify what kind of computer you are using, what type of graphic card you have, and what output on your computer you are trying to use. I will then be able to give you specific instructions for your setup.

When i connected hdmi cable from dell lap to panasonic viera lcd tv only picture is comming no sound comming why plz advice me.

Check your graphics card control panel in the TV out setting and look for a setting to allow sound to be passed trough the HDMI cable.
You could also try changing your default sound output. 1. Right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar 2. Select 'Playback Devices' 3. In the playback tab it will show you devices that are capable of putting out sound from your laptop 4. Look for a device that will output sound from the HDMI port. 5. Click on the device then click the 'set Default' button. Sound should then be going trough the HDMI cable to your TV.

How do link it to lenovo laptop

Hi,

You need a TV Tuner to do that. TV Tuner devices have ports that can link to any video output via VGA, HDMI or VDI..

Can anyone let me know how to stream video from laptop to tv. wirless

Streaming video from your computer to your TV depends entirely on what kind of setup you already have. Many standard laptops come with output jacks like s-video, which hook directly into a TV. For fancier setups, you can buy a graphics card which includes video output.

No sound on tv when laptop connected via hdmi

if you are running windows xp or linus i may not be able to help altought the problem might be solved in almoust the same way. For windows vista right click on the volume icon in the system tray icons and choose playback devices select HDMI output ( for 5920G is "Realtek HDMI Output" ) then press the "Set Default" button. The other way around is to go in the Control Pannel in the "Hardware and sound" cthegory and select sount than seth the default output to Realtek HDMI Output in the "Control Pannel Home" view, or in Classic view click/doubble click on "Sound" icon ( a speaker ) and do the same. In windows XP there is a similar approach. In linux go to System ->> Administration ->> Soundcard Detection and you should find a setting equivalent to the one in Windows

Hi I have a 128mb radeon in a dell I have dvi to hdmi to my lcd but no sound?

Your video card doesn't process sound, so of course, no sound will be passed on to the HDMI cable from the DVI output, as there is no sound to be passed on.

To get sound, you'll need to plug in an audio cable from your computers speaker output, and hook that up to your TV using your choice of connection (be it fiber optic, or 1/8in audio cable).

My computer is hooked up to my tv(sanyo ds27425) thru S-video from my radeon 7500 family graphics card, it works well for awhile then the screen goes blue! sound still works and downloads still come in...

Personally I never liked s-video, especially when you have component available. But I think that the pins in the cable on one end is either real dirty, or possibly bent. There could also be foreign debris in the input/output ( TV/PC ) of the adapters. Or the cable you have just is no good. Hopefully it's not the video card itself. Try hooking up a VGA monitor and run it the same amount of time you do with the TV connected. If that's OK, try canned air in the input/output ( TV/PC ) ,and replace the S-Video cable. Good Luck!!

I can't get my Geforce 6150 to output to the TV via s-video

There is an Fn key on most laptops that allow you to output the monitor to another screen also.

There is also a combination like F + 4 for some laptops. Make sure also that you have the correct cable plugged into the port on the laptop videocard.

Cable Required to conect to TV

Your graphic card has two digital TV outputs, so all you need to do is to purchase a DVI cable and connect your PC to your TV (unless your PC is close enough to 'borrow' the cable from your PC, and you're only doing this on a one-time basis. If your TV doesn't have DVI input, you can purchase a DVI > VGA adapter; but most TV's today have DVI input. The next step is to output your sound to your surround sound system, or your TV will be silent. If you don't have any sound output slots left to plug into, you can purchase a 'Y' - adapter for your speaker port, or else if your PC has a second speaker jack on the front, you could just use that since you're only going to watch temporarily anyway.

I've run a cable from my PC to my TV, and used a 'Y' - adapter on my speaker output, leading to my surround sound amplifier, but since it draws my available wattage to my computer speakers on my computer down quite a bit, I simply unplug the cable leading to the surround sound amplifier when I'm not using it.

Hope this will FixYa.
