I have a 3 in 1 Lexmark X1190. When scanning two thick black lines appear about 4 inches apart, appear on the preview as well. The glass does not have any marks on it. Appreciate your help. Thanks Jayne

Thick black line on scanned document

Try to wipe the scanner glass clean with a soft lint free cloth.
If the "thick black line" also appears when making a copy, then there's something wrong with the scanner hardware. If this is the case, I highly recommend you to contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance.

It might be caused by debris or marks on the scanner glass. Use a clean, soft, moistened cloth to thoroughly clean and remove any marks or debris on the glass. Black Line

Take glass cleaner and clean the small strip of glass to the far right. If there is a speck on that strip of glass it will cause a line when it scans.
