You will probably have to delete the driver from the driver property page. Then reboot the computer. Then make sure there's no driver listed. Then select up the driver. Select that you have the driver. Find a driver. Install.
This generally happens if your webcam drivers are not properly installed. Install matching updated drivers for webcam. This issue can easily be resolved by http://sureconsulting.in/
You should install the drivers before you try to operate the webcam, unless the instructions state otherwise. If the drivers are not installed, unplug the webcam and install the drivers, and plug the web cam back in when promoted. If you have the drivers installed already, or can confirm the web cam works, open up skype and navigate to tools then options. Once in the options menu go to the video settings tab. In the "select webcam" drop down menu select the webcam of your choice.
It's also possible you are using an older version of skype that my not support new protocols for video, OR it's possible you are using a new version of skype which doesn't automatically start video. If you are using an older version of skype (current version is 5.1) update to the later version. If you have the latest version, you may need to manually start video chat. When you start a call, look towards the lower area of the screen for a button that says "My video" and click on it. This should start the video chat.
Sounds like a possible driver issue.
Go to Sony's support site and download the latest drivers for your Camera, namely the WebCam Companion software to ensure you have the proper drivers for your integrated webcam. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCR420EP&SelectOS=44
A restart is usually needed after the installation.
Test the software to ensure you actually get proper video from the webcam after driver installation.
Test it out on Skype if all goes well.
Sounds like the software is looking at a video card Re-check your settings
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

working OK ?
CONFIGURE TO SKYPE Connect webcam Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly. The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software. If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.
Start Skype. On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'. In the navigation pane of the Skype 'Options' window, click 'Audio Settings' Run down the list setting your defaults Select your webcam as the default microphone. Make a free test call Click 'Save' In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings. This will launch your webcam Adjust quality of picture in 'Settings' Check the correct webcam is shown as default Click Save Test your webcam by making a Skype test call. and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then

The
camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
Then,
on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly.Your friends and Family will now be able to
see and her to you. Hope this helps.Bud
I had the same problem, I bought it from a store with no CD! After plug the USB i have only sound with no Video.
After googling around i finally found the solution: You can try below.
1, Unplug your USB connector
2, Download the right driver from the real manufacture :
http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/drivers/IC_drivers/PCCAM_WHQL_Standard_Installshield_120308.zip
3, Unzip and install the driver.
4, After finished installation, replug the USB connector (You should plug to the different port that you used to plug before)
5, Now window XP finds the right driver and installs for you.
6, Restart your PC, then use Skype to test. It works :)
