Question about Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera
I have a conon 40D and it started with an error 99 after I changed my battery.I have cleaned it and changed the batteries as it stated but I still have the problem? I live in the wilds of Tanzaia and have no chance to get this problem sorted so am asking for advise to see if it could be fixed in camp or would I have to send it out some where? What do I do!!!
You can fix it.
You need a pencil with an eraser on its end.
Remove the lens
Hold it high so you can see the mount, rub the eraser on the mount pins and surrounds. Make sure no rubber bits get into lens ( hence holding it high) then do the same to the camera body ensuring opening is facing down once again to prevent debris falling into mechanism
Blow the lens and the body with compressed air ( gently) make sure you dont blow hard on the miiror and damage it.( use canned air)
Reconnect the lens to the body and your error 99 should be gone.
let me know how you get on
