What is the best way to get to those small yoke boards VS-50501

What is the best way to get to those small yoke boards to solder, on mitsubishi vs-50501? i can't even see the board that well, i don't know how to get to it to solder. is there a trick or an easy way to do some soldering on these little boards with out taking the CRT's out? FYI, I have no picture and sound works fine. I was told those boards might have cold solder on them. the Yellow and Brown wires on the yoke conector reads 24k ohm at first and keeps going up and up to 50+k. i was told it should read around 7ohms and not go up. is that right?
I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide me on this TV.

The easiest way I have found is to unplug it from the CRT to gain access.
Yes , the resistance should not keep climbing during the measurement. That is really gone if the small current induced by a meter is changing it.

I have a Mitsubishi vs 50501 50. The picture would scramble when turned on and not give a picture unless I bumped it. Now when I turn it on it goes right back off without staying powered up.

there is probably quite a few "dry joints" that needs re soldering in the power supply section.
This should solve your problems rather than buying a new one.
Good luck and Thanks for using fixya.

Intermitent audio if you jiggle TV sound comes on for a while

I would be looking for broken solder points on the underside of the signal board. Touch up with an iron and fresh solder. Trace the speaker wires to the plug on the board for a good starting point. If no obvious cracks look in immediate vicinity. Goodluck.

I am getting error code 23 on my Mitsu 46607 TV. What is that?

It means you have a Horizontal or vertical deflection problem. A common cause are intermittent solder connections on the yoke plug connectors on the yoke themselves. Best thing to do is to solder them all. Do not attempt this if you have no or limited knowledge of High Voltage circuits of TVs.
Hope this helps,

Mitsubishi VS-50501 no picture sound works great

Odds are real good that the solder connections on the deflection yokes are bad. Go through the front access panel and with a small mirror look and the back side of the connector on each yoke. The top two pins of each will probably show 'ringed' solder connections.

Picture goes out, but have sound.

May have cold solder joints-Broken joints -on the connectors on the deflection yokes on one or more crts.THis is the connector that the cables from the main chassis to the yokes plug in .They get cold joints that lose connection when they heat up on some Mitsubishi sets. Also may be bad solder joints on the vertical output IC on the deflection board.

Vs-50501 50inch projection with no picture only sound!

Are there any other symptoms like blinking lights on the front or just no picture? This could be as simple as a few capacitors being bad or something more severe. Can you solder? Do you feel comfortable working inside the set where there are potentially dangerous high voltages present even with the set unplugged? Let me know and we'll work through the diagnostic process and hopfully resolve this.

Mitsubishi VS-50501 - Black Screen

Is the power light staying on? If so press imput and menu together for 5 seconds to see if the set will blink a 2 digit repeating code. If that doesnt work. Check for CRT coolant leaks on the boards. This seems to happen alot as do faulty capacitors. Coolant leaks will be located on the chassis directly under the tubes they can cause corrosion and prevent your set from starting especially in the VS models.

Mitsubishi VS-5062

This is a VZ3 chassis1.gif....notorious for cracked solder connections on the yoke plugs. Look at each yoke on the 3 CRT necks , you'll see a Molex plug on each yoke. The top two connections are for the vertical winding. There is a plastic tab that hinders easy soldering of these....carefully clip it off with a good pair of ****. You can then access the top 2 solder connections. Resolder these and also resolder the vertical output IC401. This should take care of the problem.

MISTUBISHI VS-50501A - top 3/4 of screen displays ok, rest does not

Check the vertcle yoke pins for solder cracks. Check verticle output circuitry resistors and transistors. And also check for Coolant leaks from the CRTs this happens alot. Check capacitors for any signs of sweeling or heat as well.
