Download the Audio Driver and try installing it in the Computer.

If are not able to install it in the Computer then try installing it in SAFE MODE.

Restart the Computer and press the F8 key at startup to boot the Computer in the Safe Mode.

NOTE: While an Operating System is in the Safe Mode, it will have reduced functionality, but it is easier to isolate problems because many non-core components are disabled.

If the issue persists then try performing the System Restore to restore the Computer when it was working normally.

To perform System Restore:

Click on START -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.

Select the date when the audio was working normally and perform the System Restore.

NOTE: The System Restore procedure will restore the Registry and other settings back to the date and time selected. No data will be lost. Saved documents and e-mail will not be affected by performing a System Restore. Any Hardware or Software that has been installed after the date of the restore point will need to be reinstalled.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Audio service refuses to start

The obvious, is it muted? NO. Disable device in Device Manager, enable device, no change, uninstall audio device, reboot, I don't know your OS, your OS should automaticly ID the audio an add driver. If it does not go to Acer website a download audio driver for your OS. Install manually. You stated,"after installing a hard drive I had from another laptop" . The Harddrive you installed, did you format it and install into this laptop and clone the drive? I am a bit confused by the statment, "after installing a hard drive I had from another laptop"?

I have a acer 1360 and i have encountered a problem with sound, which i never had before, there is no sound from the computer or ear phones, or speakers, can you guide me to fix the problem, thanks

The pivotal action in trying to isolate and diagnose the specific cause of any computer fault is to think back to when the computer was working normally and then list any hardware, software or settings changes between that time and when the fault you are experiencing first appeared.

Audio problems are often simple settings problems. Before you try anything else think if you have connected any new device or installed or used any new software on the computer that is Audio-related (such as a cellphone, an MP3/MP4/MP5 player, a bluetooth device, a microphone, a Voice Over Internet Protocol [VOIP] Headset or multiplexing device, a dial-up modem or dial-up modem based transaction or stock keeping or postal franking device, a multimedia player, a speech recognition program, media playing software, fax/phone software, etc., etc. Any of these sorts of devices or software are capable of changing a computer's default audio settings.

Reset the audio to the correct default device - start -> control panel -> sounds speech and audio devices/hardware and sounds -> audio -> select main audio on-board chip or sound card from the Playback Device drop down menu or the panel of different device options -> apply -> OK -> restart computer.

Often this is all that needs to be done to restore audio that has been disabled by settings changes.

If not then turn your mind to a possible Audio/sound Driver conflict, corruption or deletion.
Uninstall all components of the installed Audio/Sound Driver from Add or Remove Programs/ Uninstall a Program or its equivalent in your Operating System - > restart the computer -> reinstall the Audio/Sound Driver from the Drivers and Utilities Installation Disc or download, save (so as to create and keep on the computer the Sound/Audio Driver Setup Files in case of future Sound/Audio Driver problems) and install it from the Support and Download pages of the Acer website -> restart the computer.

My speakers are uninstalled it says that i have no audio output device is installed

well you need to find the appropriate driver for that. Try the uniblue driver scanner software so that i could automatically install any outdated drivers but if you could manage to find an appropriated driver manually, that would be better just make sure that you know the specific model of that audio device for you to install the proper driver. another option is to go to Device manager and find the audio category then you'll might notice a question mark if you see it right click on that then update driver then follow the instructions onward

I installed the audio driver for Acer aspire 4732z using the Acer supplied cd installer but it displayed "could not find media for this device"

sometimes you can repair with the cd installer, verify in device manager what audio device and driver you before you fix , you might be able to get a newer driver online.

USB Midi Controller

the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' and force it to install the non-certified M-Audio drivers that were supposedly installed when running the M-Audio installer. (Skip internet search, and browse to M-Audio folder in Program files, it will eventually find them.) There are two M-Audio USB drivers that need to be 'forced' via New Hardware Wizard. But Windows thinks its drivers are a better match and even though 'device is working properly' it doesn't get recognized in your software. replaced them with the 2 USB ones from M-Audio, DAW finally recognized the keyboard. I even went through regedit to clean up all the M-Audio stuff so I could get a fresh install.

Good Luck you can do this /Have a great Sunday and a safe one.
