Why is there moisture leakage from inside my cooler?

The drainage pipe is blocked or dirty. You will have to find it to unclog. Or find the water drainage container at bottom the in the drain pipe ther blow throw to unclog.

Tip

Soldering with water in the line

When soldering copper supply or drain pipe, condensation or seeping can be your worst enemy. Solder will not flow completely around the pipe if moisture is present, causing a water or sewage leak, respectively.
An old tip or trick is to separate the two pipes being soldered and stuffing half a piece of "white" bread into each pipe making sure to completely seal the entire pipes inside diameter and pushing those bread pieces down inside those pieces of pipe at least the same distance as the pipes outside diameter.
The bread will hold back any seeps or absorb any condensation long enough for the two pieces of pipe to be rejoined and soldered.
The "white" bread will do one of two things.....either flow down the drainage pipe with the other waste or it will break apart in tiny little pieces and flow right through all your water fixtures, with no trace of ever being there.

Happy Soldering!

Where are the drains in my 2000 beetle ? I have a puddle of water under passenger seat !

Drill a 3/8 th hole through the floor at the lowest point then look for the water leak ,is the AC drain pipe clear as this is the most obvious point of entry and the AC condensate will run into car if this pipe is blocked

Slight water leak from plastic drain fitting on rheem fury 40 gal gas water heater

You can try to crack it open and get a little piece of crud out of there, I'm sure that is all it is, Just get a tray or something to catch the water, It should stop it, If it gets worse, turn the water off to the heater, then open the valve and hope the bigger piece of crud comes out. It is about all you can do, other than drain the whole thing and take the valve apart and replace the rubber in it. Check it out, Hope this helps.

Leak (drips) from the plastic knob/valve at the bottom from of the water heater. Model: Ruud M50-2 (installed in 1996)

This is your water tank drain or boiler ****. If it's plastic, it cannot be repaired so replacement is necessary. Of course you will need to drain the tank* first before replacing the valve.

* First turn off the circuit breaker for the water heater. Turn off the cold water supply to the tank. Open all of the hot water valves at each faucet in the house for proper drainage. Connect a garden hose to the tank drain with the other end emptying into into your basement drain or to outside of the house. Open the tank drain valve slowly and allow it to drain completely.

Once it has drained, use a pair of channel-lock pliers (aka water pump pliers or arc joint pliers) to turn the base of the valve counter-clockwise and remove it. Take this valve to a plumbing, hardware of home improvement store and ask for a replacement. I recommend a brass replacement valve but a PVC one is acceptable. Pick up a roll of 1/2" teflon pipe tape too.

Wrap the pipe thread on the new valve with 2 or 3 wraps of the teflon tape. Start the valve into the drain hole by hand, then tighten with the pliers until snug and valve oulet pointing down. Make sure the valve is closed. Turn on the cold water supply valves then turn off the faucets in the house once they are purged of air. Allow the tank to pressurize and check for leaks. If good, turn on the circuit breaker and you are good to go.

Turned off the hot water to fix a leaking tap. now the tap has no hot or cold water and the hot water tank valve is leaking?

It sounds like two problems.
Problem 1) Clog inside faucet or clog inside pipes at faucet
Remove supply tubes leading to faucet and see if problem is inside pipes or inside faucet.
My bet is clog inside faucet.

If you have galvanized pipe that meets copper pipe, this can be trouble spot.

Problem 2) Water heater leak ... you say tank valve is leaking? Is that cold-water shut-off valve? Or tank drain valve? Or TP valve?

If cold water shut-off is leaking, then replace shut off.

If tank drain valve is leaking, then check if plastic valve is cracked. If drain valve is cracked, then replace with a brass valve from Home Depot. If plastic valve breaks off, then use hammer and screwdriver to gently chip out the broken plastic valve. New valve threads need teflon tape to seal pipe. If valve is just dripping, then put garden-hose cap over end of valve and screw down tight.

If TP valve is leaking, then replace with same temperature and pressure rating.
New TP valve threads need teflon tape to seal pipe.

Problem 3) If pressure is low all over house:
Buy pressure gauge at hardware store that screws onto hose connection.

Test pressure on outdoor spigot.
Open faucet and check if pressure drops. This says if problem is inside pipes that enter house.

Test pressure on water heater drain valve.
This says if pressure problem is before -or- after water heater.

If problem is before the water heater, then shut-off valve located on cold water line is suspect.
If problem is after water heater, it could be in hot water outflow pipe on top of water heater, or a nearby elbow.

Remove hot water line leading from water heater and check pressure. This says if problem is where hot water leaves tank.
Read articles above about clogs inside water lines.

Water spilled out of plastic seal on lower drainage pipe

Hi,
It depends....sometimes it is hard to tell if it is the plastic that broke or the tank that is leaking. If you are sure it is the plastic then I would just have that replaced... if it is the tank then you need to buy a new heater...
Often times the tank will leak right by the threads where they welded the thread-o-let in there...

Make sure that the flexible pipe is securely connected to the drainpan, it can come adrift and cause leaking. The way to check this is to make sure everything is dried out completely. Then open the front grill and carefully pour water so that it goes only into the drip pan. Pour slowly so that you do not overflow the pan. If water is coming out on the outside and you have no leaks on the inside, then you can rule out the perished or disconnected drainpipe theory. In this case your unit may be short of refrigerant causing excessive run time and a freeze up of the evaporator.

How to replace a magnesium rod on a John Wood electr. water tank?

You can buy these at any good hardware store- two types- Aluminium and manganese- if you replace and have a odor from water remove and replace with other. Really easy to do. Turn off water pressure to tank . Drain pressure at lowest tap in house. Put hose on drain spiggot of tank and drain off 1-2 gallons .Turn off electrical to tank. Unscrew old with socket- yes socket - do not use a pipe wrench. You will need a power bar Or good solid ratchet to remove and reinstall. Apply a pipe dope or teflon tape to new and srew in place- wrap tape counter clockwise or it will spin off as you turn in place and it will leak. Do not drain tank completely - you require this weight to keep tank from spinning as you remove and reinstall. After tightening slowly put pressure back on system - never shock pipes etc.Just as you do not slam your brakes- don't slam your pipes,Turn power back on after checking for leaks -tighten as required. Double check spiggot after removing hose as dirt can sometime cause a slow leak- monitor all areas for at least 3-5 mins and then check again at end of week. Also know that the lifespan of a tank should max at 15 yrs after that - replace or accept the flood when it happens. Good luck at poat me if you need me. Allen
