Green flashes when PWM controller in the switching power supply turns into protection caused by overloading, which in most cases caused by popped electrolytic capacitors. Open the monitor, get access to the power supply module and observe there for those caps which are rounded on top. Replace them all. Also check for cracked solder junctions under large-size parts. These are most common reasons.

My hitachi 1999 tv turns on but off right away has flashing green lights in back

If the flashing green lights are on the circuit board each is tied to a voltage from the power supply----likely damage is there but a 99 may not be economical to fix in 2012.

Hi, someone gave me a Hitachi 50VS69A TV and it doesn't turn on the lamp light flashes. But the power light doesn't even go on?

Have you since the lamp light is on even removed and inspected the lamp to see if shattered or not?

Hitachi 60vf820 displays red flashing light above power green light and picture will not come on.

There are 2 or three things wrong with this T.V. Step one:
Make sure the Bulb is good by taking it out of your T.V. and inspecting it.
If it is bad...

This lamp already has the housing with it, just swap it out.
Two, you could have a bad power supply- Repair is usually 240-280 bucks in shop.
3: You could have a bad fan. The fan on this T.V. that goes bad is a nightmare to get to and I highly recommend a service man to do it.

Hitachi 51f510 Color problem

for testing, place the green crt board on the red crt and see if the red crt lights up and the green does not. If the green does not light up then check for 200+ volts on the collector or the output transistor. if you have that kind of voltage thee then check for an open resistor. If not then make sure the transistor is not shorted

Flashin power light - wont come on

The "green light flashing to the chirping" circuit may be defective.

Not a basic diagnosis--service literature and/or knowledge of each green light circuit will be needed.Possible shop repair.
