Regrettably, no defets on drum unamendable, besides, his(its) it is impossible even protected from sun light and touch the hand, When will install new, better entrust this specialist - my advice. Do Not take responsiblity on itself. Installing the drum, is done not dearly, but you barrier itself from risk. Good luck!

How to clean the magenta toner sensor on a canon imagerunner c5255 copier

Step 1Turn off and unplug your Canon copier. Put on a pair of latex or work gloves to keep toner and debris off of your hands. Cover a table, desk or other surface with three to four sheets of newspaper to protect the surface from spilled toner Step 2Open your copier's toner cartridge door on the front or top of the device and remove the toner cartridge. The cartridge contains the drum as part of its unit. Lay a flannel cloth onto the newspaper-covered table, desk or other surface and then shake the toner cartridge gently above the cloth to coat the cloth lightly with ton
Place the cartridge upside down on the newspaper-covered surface and open the drum's shutter door, which contains hinges. Rotate the drum using the spindle on the side and wipe the drum's surface with the toner-covered flannel cloth to remove any dust, dirt and caked-on debris. The drum only rotates in one direction. Work quickly so as not to expose the drum to light. Artificial and natural light can damage the drum's surfac Step 4Continue rotating and wiping the drum's surface until it is free of any debris and dirt. Close the drum's shutter door and reinstall the cartridge back in your Canon copier.

SIR,i AM RUNNING IR 400 FOR 2 YEARS THIS TIME ONLY wHEN I CHANGE A DRUM THE PRINT WILL BE GOOD WHEN 200 COPIES CONTINUOUSLY TAKING THE DRUM DAMAGED IT MEANS SMALL CRACK ON THE DRUM AT THE FRONT DOOR SIDE...

Hello,
first, did you install complete Canon original drum unit or just replaced with not genuine low quality drum?
Maybe the problem is in bad quality of drum.
In original drum unit you get whole unit with new drum, blade and charge roller.

Second, you should inspect the developing cylinder, he is magnetic and in some cases something like paper clip or other metal dirt can stuck on it and cause breakage or damage of drum surface.
I recomend you to remove the toner unit, vacume it and check for foreign materials, also rotate the developing cylinder and look for damages or foreign materials.

Hope that something of this will help!

BLACK LINE IN COPY

First, reinsert the drum you just put in and run some prints. But, it sounds like the cleaning blade for the drum flipped. I would put another drum in, and if it has no lines, you can turn in the bad drum for warranty. If you can not turn in the bad drum for warranty, you can try to take it apart to clean and recoat the drum blade. My other question is why did you replace the drum in the first place? Also, make sure you don't have toner in the paper path area.

Hi,
These means in most cases that you need to replace drum unit, because its way over its life and the value on drum surface is verry low.

But in some cases it could be that atr sensor is dirty. He is located above drum unit and reads the drum surface potential.

Hope that helped!

Certain papers, notably a transfer paper that I have used in other machines and have a lot of, will not stick to the drum properly which causes a 'jam' message: "Open front door, remove paper from drum"....

The paper on the CLC-1180 is held to the Transfer Drum by static attraction. Certain papers or media will not work with machine. One thing you can try is to check the flex the paper. Flex the paper and see which way it has the most flex. If the paper has more flex or bend in the Landscape direction load the paper in the Letter "R" direction, or Portrait direction (letter). If the paper is too stiff it will conform to curvature of the transfer drum and Jam.

Canon does not recommend the use of Transfer Material in the CLC series. Canon does have a recommended Heat Transfer Paper for Fabric item # 6094A082AA that will work with the copier.

Canon does recommend aftermarket transfer paper do the damage possible to the fixing rollers. It's possible you could get a Service Tech to adjust the Attraction charge in the copiers service mode to make this paper work better. The CLC 1100 series this very fussy about paper and some papers will just not work. The newer Canon Color copiers use a Transfer Belt which eliminate the bends and provide a straight through paper path much improving the performance with odd or heavy papers.

Hi

When you were replacing the drum did you tuch the drum surface?Best would be that you take some toner on piece of cloth, and polish the drum, while turning it in good direction, that the cleaning blade can clean it.After you must let it copy about 50 copies.

You can try to replace the whole drum unit cexv14, or clean the laser unit.

Also could it be that the toner unit, or toner cleaning blade are not properly distibutes the toner accross the developing/toner cylinder.
