This message is usually pertaining to the operating system, i will assume that your copy is legal (came pre-installed or bought a copy). The easiest way to get the message to go away is to run your windows updates, when they run they will install a update that will decide if your copy is legal or not, if it fails it will tell you that you need to buy a copy, or most of the time it will go away and you will not see the problem again.

Often computer manufacturers use 1 Windows key for their machines, and if that key gets abused in the public, they will ban the key and the effected computers will show the symptoms your describing. If this happens you go along the prompts that windows will give you and then enter the cd key that should have been attatched to the outside of your computer when you bought it.

If any of this doesnt apply, give more info --> such as type of computer and operating system.

"You may be a victim

Welcome to FixYa!

If you're seeing notifications that the copy of Windows that is installed on your PC might not be genuine, or that you might be a victim of counterfeit software, it's likely that your copy of Windows was not properly activated or is otherwise not genuine. To fix this, click the notification and follow the steps to either repair Windows or-if you have inadvertently obtained counterfeit software-buy genuine Windows.

If you are using Windows XP, download and install the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Application. It will scan your operating system and will remove the annoying message if it's a legitimate copy of windows.

I can`t go in my mail,I want to remove you may be a victim of software counterfeiting

HI,

That message ("you may be a victim of software counterfeiting") is displayed when your Windows serial number is being used by someone else. If your copy of Windows is legitimate, try contacting Microsoft support.

Take care,

Ask for genuine microsoft software

Hi.

It appears you have been a victim of software counterfeit, just like message says. Windows cannot find your product number in its valid product keys database.

There are three possibilities:
  • you have purchased illegal Windows XP (you will have to contact Microsoft on resolving this issue),
  • you entered blacklisted product key by mistake (search on Microsoft's site on information how to change your serial number),
  • you intentionally installed pirated Windows XP (FixYa does not provide any feedback to pirates).
