2008 Hyundai Azera XM radio "not ready"

I just purchased a 2008 Hyundai Azera with a 6 CD changer & AM/FM/XM. I cannot get onto a XM channel 0. When I hit the XM button all i get is an error message saying "Not ready". My dealer says I need a whole new radio @ $950 (it's out of warranty). I'm sure there is a simple fix for this. Does any one have any ideas?

I had the same problem. My 2008 Hyundai Azera had 37,800 and my wife went over a speed bump the XM radio went off and displayed "Not Ready". I raised the hood, pulled the negative battery cable for about a minute, replaced it and fixed the problem. Only issue is, this happens every couple of days. I'll probably continue to do this till my xm subscription runs out then to heck with it.

I have xm radio and it stays on preview and don't know how to get any stations on my Hyundai sonota 2008

You need to go to channel 0 and get the radio number and write it down. then put the radio on channel 1. call the 800 number and give them the radio number from channel 0 and then they can activate it for you.

I purchased a 2008 g35 infiniti & would like to know how to activate or operate the xm radio. thx

Turn the radio on an locate the Radio ID
For XM Radios

Your Radio ID can be displayed by tuning your radio to channel 0. (That's one channel down from the XM Preview.) Make sure to check your ID code carefully. Please note that the following letters are not used: I,O, S, and F.

My TT was imported new from Japan....Has AMAZING video and sound system unfortunateley its all Japanese to me!! The manual that comes with it is about an inch think...Its got built in Navigation system...

I know you can that you can change this by simply hooking up a scan tool for specific year. There are language options accessible for situations like this. Here is a sample of what can be changed using VAG 5052 or equivalent scanners.

XM Radio in 2008 Hyundai Sonata sounds bad

Same problem here. I repeatedly complained to XM but got no reply. I listen to XM in 2009 Sonata and it was just as bad.

XM is better than AM. Much worse than FM.

XM radio ''NOT READY'' message

I have had this problem at least a half-dozen times, and the simplest solution is to pull the 2 fuses labeled 'audio 1' and 'audio 2.' It resets the radio, but it will work for a while after that (until I have to do it again). Had the xm unit replaced 3 times, new antenna installed, replaced the antenna connection wire - it always dies within a month.

"not ready" message on XM radio

Remove the Audio Fuse and then put it back in and the problem is solved. So frustrating that I had to find this solution on another site as both the dealer and XM had no idea how to fix it. Dealer tried to tell me it was a bad radio and I'd have to get a replacement from Hyundai.

How do I connect an mp3 to my 2008 sonata?

The 2008 Sonata does not come equipped to plug in a separate MP3 player. The MP3 on the face of the radio/CD player refers to the fact that the CD player will play MP3 files. If you want to play from a separate player, you will have to add an FM modulator or something similar.

2005 Honda CR-V won't go to XM radio.

"XM Ready" means that you have to have a satelite radio installed in order to have XM service. I went through this when buying my 2005 CR-V and thought that all I needed was to set up the service. If you have an XM receiver installed you can controll it on your Honda factory radio. It is very misleading.

I have a 2006 Yukon xl Denali with the Bose radio/ Navigation and separate 6 disc cd changer. The am/fm radio works fine, but when using XM, the channels get stuck and have to be turned manually.

generally it would just need to be reset... unhook the battery for about ten minutes and hook it back up. make sure you have the unlock code for the radio FIRST and you know how to enter it.
