Did your PC come with recovery CDs? If not, did you back up your recovery partition to DVDs/CDs when you purchased the PC? If your answer is no to both, then your only option is to use the recovery manager to recover from the recovery partition in your hard drive. The only snag here is that if the initial problem was due to virus, this recovery partition will most likely have been infected with the virus/viruses and may not work well again. But if you have your DVDsCDs then you are home and dry. Just slot in the recovery DVD/CD and restart the system and simply follow the onscreen instructions. Really, it is a piece of cake.

Nntldr missing

NTDLR missing is the baseic directory that hold windows. You have lost this somehow, maybe a virus or similar.
What you now need to do, is obtain the Windows install CD, boot from it and allow it to get to the stage it looks for an existing copy of windows, perform a repair and reboot, this will retain all the files on the HDD

If this fails, then you will need to do a full install from scratch, as before, but the drive will need formatting and you will lose the files you have on the drive

(I suggest you see if you can borrow another computer, slave the hard drive to it and pull off the files you need before formatting it as decribed above)

I have Toshiba laptop with built in camera, but whenever i try to open the camera i recieve an error message 'CEC_Main.exe' reinstall. Kindly help how do i go about.

You also have Kasperkey ?
The error message 'CEC-MAIN.exe' is connected with the Camera Assistant Software,
You are unable to run the camera software because your KIS (Kasperkey Internet Security is blocking it by keeping "CEC-MAIN.exe" in the 'Untrusted File'.

Resolution:-

1) Launch your web browser

2) In the Notification Area (Down by your clock - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Pause Protection" > select "Resume manually"

3) In Notification Area: click on KIS icon elect "Applications under Control"

4) In the "Applications under Control" menu relocate "CEC-MAIN.exe" from the "Untrusted File" to the "Trusted File" - click "OK"

5) > Start > All Programs > CEC-MAIN icon to run your web camera program
Or My computer >> Local Disk (C) >> Program Files >> Camera Assistant Software Folder >> CEC-MAIN icon
Your webcam should now be running
Worth putting a shortcut on your Desktop at this stage .

6) With the webcam still running, then In notification Area - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Resume Protection"

7) Check the "CEC-MAIN.exe" in "Applications under Control" and confirm it is still in the "Trusted File"

8) Restart your computer

Will noy boot up

Hello,

some of your operating system files is missing/corrupt, that's why the main windows cannot open/load.

You will need to repair your windows operating system (win xp/vista), in other to solve this problem.

To repair your windows, you will be needing a windows operating system CD, insert it into your player and run setup. While you are installing, it will get to a stage where the system will ask you if you want to restore, click restore and the missing/corrupt files will be reinstalled.

Good luck.

Shutdown/Startup repair issue

hi dear

The process NDIS 5.1 wrapper driver belongs to the Microsoft Windows Operating System.

Description: File NDIS.sys is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Known file sizes on Windows XP are 182912 bytes (94% of all occurrence), 167552 bytes.
The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. The file is a Windows core system file. The program is not visible. It is a Microsoft signed file. The service has no detailed description. Therefore the technical security rating is 0% dangerous.

This is a common problem experienced by many people. Just Google NDIS.sys and you'll see what I mean. For some it is onboard sound such as Realtech, others it is IRQL conflicts, and for still others such as yourself the NIC card.

One person worked around it by uninstalling the Windows driver and downloaded the manufacturer's driver.
