Question about Toshiba (WMD070AC) Magneto-Optical Disk Drive
When I insert a disk in my laptop's DVD-RW drive, I hear numerous clicking cycles and some spinning. Then it goes silent and the CD LED lights up constant. When I click on the CD-Drive icon in Windows Explorer, I get a message stating "Please insert a disk in Drive D:" I notice within windows explorer in the "comments" block to the right of the drive it states: "Stores your local website." I suspect a hardware problem and have been shopping for a replacement laptop dvd drive, but does anyone know if there is a different solution? The "Stores your local website" comment makes me very suspicious. Any ideas?
The DVD-RW is faulty, take it in and get another one to replace it. the clicking noise may be coming from the rack gear inside the device and causing a malfunction.
