Sorry, yes, the ignitor comes on and then shuts off. When first started, there is a glow at the bottom of the dryer and it goes away within seconds. As far as the noise - I believe that it is the...

Well your fuse is good and your cycling thermostat is calling for heat, your ignitor is fine because it glows and the flame sensor is doing it's job because the ignitor is fine. The only other components involved is the solenoid coils. They sometimes will work a bit then get hot and quit. Very hard to diagnose. themobilian_3061.jpg

I am trying to install a thermostat and I am not sure where to put all the wires... it is for american standard freedom 90 two stage - furnace and air conditioning

Should be like this:

Y from furnace goes to Y on thermostat (yellow)
C from furnace goes to C on thermostat (usually blue)
G from furnace goes to G on thermostat (green)
W1 (first stage heat) to w1 on thermostat(white)
w2 (second stage heat) to w2 on thermostat (black)

Doesn't sound like you have a heat pump but if you do "o" will also have to be connected which is the reversing valve.

My whirlpool duet electric dryer won't heat up. Everything else seems to be fine. My husband replaced the cutoff and thermostat. Any suggestions

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Instead of the heating element turning on the heat pump runs out side thermostate is not set on eheat

The heatpump is your 1st. stage heat, when you have a call for heat it will bring on the outdoor unit.
When the first stage heat can't heat the house and the indoor temperature drops 2° or 3° then 2nd. stage heat will kick in and maintain the house temperature at about 2° or 3° below the temperature setting.
If you outdoor unit fails or goes into defrost then emergency heat will kick in and keep the house at 2nd stage temperature approximately 2° or 3° below thermostat setting.
If you have an outdoor thermostat or balance point setting on outdoor board, it will shut the outdoor unit off at a certain set outdoor temperature and the 2nd stage heat will be primary heat for the house.

Rheem Furnace sometimes takes a couple of ignition cycles before

Try cleaning the flame sensor. It is located right besides the last burner. Looks like a thick piece of wire. Take steel wool and gently remove the carbon that has built up. Should only take 4 or 5 strokes. Let me know how it goes after that. ken

First and second scuba regulator

The scuba regulator has two parts: a 1st stage and a second stage connected by a hose. The 1st stage connects right to the tank; the 2nd stage is the contraption behind your mouthpiece. Both have an important function in regulating air flow throughout your scuba system.
