Try removing the battery. Sometimes when the battery is gone, it will not allow the laptop to be used until it is removed. Plug in the laptop. Try turning it on without the battery. If this works, you need a new battery. If this doesn't work then your power adaptor may be faulty. Check eBay for a resonable priced replacement.
