Question about Sony STR-DE845 Receiver
Ever since a power outage, my receiver is extremely low. I can barely hear anything when I record video through it or even when I have it on. Alot of background hissing. I tried resetting but no change. It is connect to a surge protector and all other components are operating fine.
You have a damaged audio selector chip in your amps input stages. Can be easily checked. they are stereo down each side with many inputs a few outputs. Sometimes are marked. Check with osc scope or signal sniffer. you may have to replace more than one. they share a common clock and serial data lines so operation of one can effect many
