Got the easiest solution to the problem. It worked for me, hope it helps all of you too.

First of all, if the device is unrecognizable, go to Device Manager and remove (not disable) the device. After doing so, remove the USB connector from the port.

Next, go to
http://www.logitech.com/en-my/support-downloads?wt.mc_id=usym_redirect_/index/downloads, and look for your mouse/keyboard etc model. Choose the one that you own and choose the Software Downloads option. Next, follow the steps and install the Logitech Connection Utility.

Once installed, follow the steps given and hopefully your device should be reconnected once again. Hope it helps all the best!

Hello,
Install the drivers for the mouse. Plug your mouse before booting. Try changing the USB port used.
Hope it helps.

Sounds like the mouse that cannot be recognized is bad. Try plugging it into another computer and see if it works. The little USB port may be damaged.

Bluetooth mouse will show up on the computer but when I click to connect it fails

Most of the Bluetooth mouse is a Plug-and-Play device. Just put the USB nanoreceiver in your laptop/desktop then turn on the mouse and your done.
The common problem in a bluetooth connection is when the receiver (nanoreceiver) cant receive the signal from the transmitter (mouse).
Try to replace the battery/s of your mouse and connect your receiver. Check your device manager if your mouse will recognize.

What do i have to do to use a cordless mouse on my laptop, it is on dial up?

The cordless mouse should have a device that connects to the USB port (unless it is a bluetooth device) that will serve as the bridge between the mouse and the laptop. Typically, one of two things can occur. First, a driver would be installed prior to connecting the device to the laptop then somewhere during the installation, you are asked to plug in the device. Otherwise, the device may simply be recognized in your Operating system and all you have to do is push the little button on the bottom of the mouse to allow it to connect to the device attached to your laptop. If you provide a model number, we can see what you completely need.

Ps2 port doesn't recognize Microsoft Optical mouse

You might think about a USB hub for all your USB devices. ps2 port is more or less dedicated for mouse, which is why your mouse pointer is stuck in the middle of the screen. Go ahead and get an externally powered USB Hub to power other USB devices. To answer, ps2 for mouse needs just a mouse, not USB device.

USB device not recognized

Two things to try. First try a different USB port. If that doesn't work go into Control Panel> System>Devices and find the device. It should be under Unknown devices. Delete it and unplug the mouse. Reboot and then inser the mouse. If that doesn't work tyhe mouse may be faulty.

Usb device not recognize

You mentioned that you uninstalled the unknown device from the Device manager. If you uninstall it then connected your usb flash drive you will see an error again on your device manager. This means that the driver for your usb port is not properly installed.

To install it, visit dell website, look for the model of your machine and locate the driver, download it then install from your machine.
