SOURCE: While having one too many

In 480p resolution, you highlight the 16.9 aspect ratio from the TV Aspect menu option in Setup and then type 1397139 on the remote. This brings up the service screen with all options and machine information.
Optimal (best) settings are as follows.
1 : f 2 2 : 35 (this is DivX)
3 : 93 (macrovision?) 4 : f f (Vcd/Svcd)
5 : f f (region free) 6 : c0 (c0 = LG logo)(ce = Insignia)
7 : 04 8 : 15
All I can say is Keep these and and dont mess around or you can kill it....

SOURCE: i need the ORIGINAL option codes for my dvd /video

Hi.

To change the region code follow procedures below:

Procedure 1:

1. To start the hack click the ‘Home’ button on the remote
2. 'Setup’ appears then press ‘Enter’
3. Press Right cursor key and scroll down to TV Aspect, press right cursor and highlight the 16x9 aspect ratio so it’s ticked on and in orange.
4. Enter numbers 1 3 9 7 1 3 9
5. An On-Screen window appears and you have to press Enter to change settings.
6. NB these are the original setting: -
7. Option 1:12 Option 2: 25 Option 3: 93 Option 4: 53
8. Option 5: 20 Option 6: c0 Option 7: f1 Option 8: 50
9. To change the values of these options press the ‘enter’ button and scroll with arrow keys until you get to the option you want to change. For the region code hack replace the value of option 5 with the value of: ff
10. Changing this value will set unit to region code 0 which should allow any region to be played on the player.
11. Press the ‘Enter’ return button to save and ‘Return’ to exit. Reboot the device

Procedure 2:

Click the home button on the remote, goto the Setup page, highlight the 16X9 aspect ratio and enter in this coded sequence: 1 3 9 7 1 3 9

To change the values of these options hit the enter button and scroll with arrow keys until you get to the option you want to change. For the region code hack replace the value of option 5 with the value of: ff

Changing this value will set unit to region code 0 which should allow any region to be played on the player. Hit the return button to save and exit. Reboot the device

My portable DVD player keeps displaying a message of "wrong region" instead of playing the discs

That means that the region code of the DVDs that you are trying to play in the unit do not match the region code that the player is set to. Often people buy DVDs for real cheap only to find that they are pirated copies from overseas and have other region codes that do not match their machine. If that is not the case, you need to check to see what region code your machine has. Most can be changed, but there is a limit to how many times you can change the region code on most devices so be sure to know what you want before you start messing around.

Philips lx9000r 25S ome theater system Has suddenly stopped playing DVDs from Region 2 (no disc error) It will play DVDs from region 0 and CDs. Do not know access code, so cannot follow manual to change...

The Access Code is 0000 as default unless it's been changed

I think you'll find if it's not playing Region 2 DVDs that it's the same old Philips fault in that the laser has gone / is going.

I have Dish Network and I can't find a Code for my LG RC797T so I can get it to play

I'm assuming you are referring to using the dish network remote to control your DVD/VCR unit. Use the instructions in your Dish Network manual, mine is on page 61, "Setting up using device code tables". Refer to the table of device codes in the back of the dish manual, pg 119, to look up your manufacturer. I used the DVD codes for LG as LG wasn't listed on DVD/VCR combo codes. Try each one until one works. I have the LG RC797T and the third code worked 824. Good luck!

Region Selection

You cannot change the region code again after 5 times of changing even if you move it to a new computer or install a new OS on your computer, I recommend buying a new DVD Drive to access full functionability and no restrictions.

Q: What is Regional Coding enhancement(RCE)?
A: It's a digital enhancement added to some Warner Bros and Columbia DVDs to stop region 1 (R1) DVDs from playing on Region-free DVD players.

Q: What's the difference between Region Coding and RCE?
A: Regional Coding enhancement(RCE) is an additional layer of protection which some studios have placed on select REGION 1 DVDs to prevent them from playing on region-free or multi-region players. Region Coding is a part of the DVD spec which divides the world into 8 regions:
Region 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories
Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)
Region 3: Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)
Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean
Region 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
Region 6: China
Region 7: Reserved
Region 8: Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)

Basically, DVDs released in each region will typically only play on players sold in that region. IE a DVD released in the UK *Region 2* would not play on a player sold in the us *Region 1*. You can tell what Region a DVD is coded for by looking at the back of the box for a Globe with a number on it. The number correlates to the region list above. If a DVD is listed as 'Region 0' it means that it isn't coded for any region and should play on ALL regions players.
