Kenmore refrigerator making high pitch noise top front

could be the ice maker or the evaporator fan motor.you can try lifting the arm up on the ice maker and see if it stops, this will shut off the ice maker.also when you open the freezer door to lift the arm on the ice maker the evap fan motor should start when you open the door, you should hear it blowing around,is this the noise you hear?these are the two things i can think of that could make a noise up top,if not it could be the compressor or the condenser fan motor but these are down the bottom back of machine but still could be the problem,if the ice maker and evap fan motor both in the freezer are ok pull out the machine and remove the bottom back panel and check to see if the noise is coming from there where the condenser fan motor and compressor are, you're going to have to do some detective work to find the noise, hope this helps you out.

Hello, I have a Kenmore refrigerator model 795.73264300 and I've been told by a service tech that I need a freezer fan motor replaced along with the ice maker. Total cost is about $400. I've been on...

Go here:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-79573264300/0582/0166000?pathTaken=

It's the Sears Parts site for that model refridgerator.

They list the fan for $8.10 and you can replace the whole ice maker for about $120

Looks like you take the shelves out and then the bulb, then the top panel in the back of the freezer to acces the fan

Good luck

Ice cube maker makes ice cubes ever once and a while, the condenser fan turns slowly. is this why it doesn't make ice cubes and the frezzer side is not cold enough? condenser fan going out? monogram...

Good day,
The ice maker speed of production is determined by the freezer temperature. If the freezer temperature is warmer than normal then the cycle thermostat in the ice maker will take longer to reset for the next harvest, causing low ice production.
More important, the condenser fan motor running too slowly can cause the compressor to run overheated and cause serious and expensive damage.
If in your opinion, it is running too slow, the issue should be addressed as soon as possible.

Compressor gone & Input water line burned in half

Sounds like your condenser is dirty, condenser fan motor is out and it over heated the compressor. Since it get so hot, the plastic tubing is melted by the copper tubing ( plastic tubing is touching the hot copper tubing). It is not worth to fix it. Compressor cost $250-$300, plus condenser fan motor, plastic tubing and labor. U-Line has 5yr parts and labor sealed system Warr. U-Line ph # 800-779-2547

U-Line ice maker fails to get cold.

Dirty condenser, condenser fan motor not running, compressor is out or sealed system is leaking refrigerant.

Mini fridge-ice maker stopped cooling. Cleaned coils underneath-still not cooling

If it is running but not cooling, I"ll clean the condenser first then make sure the condenser fan motor is running, if the condenser fan motor is not running, re place it with new one, or if compressor and condenser fan motor are running then it will be sealed system problem, if it is not cover by Warr. it is not worth to fix it.

Motor is hot?

Which motor is hot...compressor or fan?
Also need to know the model number.
Is this a 3-phase or single-phase unit?

Let's assume it is the compressor...Is it so hot that you can't touch it for more than a second or two? Is the compressor shutting down on internal thermal overload?

Compressor body hot can be caused by a number of things:
1. Low charge (the freon acts as a coolant for the compressor).
2. Electrical imbalance (3-phase only). (check line-to-line voltages)
3. Bearings in compressor failing (check amp draw).
4. Condenser dirty or airflow blocked in some way.
5. Condenser fan(s) not running or running backwards.
6. If water cooled condenser then water flow problem.

Hope this helps you get started.

If this helps you, please select YES to the first two ratings questions. Thank you, and Good Luck.

My U-line under counter refigerator ice maker evap fan failed

Depends, for the newer models, you can change the evap fan motor thru the front, but if you have the older model, then you have to remove the freezer housing, ice maker assy then the cover to change the evap fan motor.
