SOURCE: How do you thread a bernina 1008?

I hope I can explain this in an understandable way!

1. Pull the end of the thread from the spool to the left and "click" it into the little metal guide (on the top of the machine) that is at the back of the long **** in the top. It's easiest to do this by holding the thread tight between your two hands, placing it behind the guide, and pulling forward until it clicks in.

2. for the remaining steps, let the thrread slide between the fingers of your right hand, keeping a little tension on it, as you thread the machine with your left hand.

3. Bring the thread end forward, laying the thread into the ****, and continue downward, along the right side of the vertical silver bar/hook thingy.

4. Bring the thread under that bar from right to left, and go back up towards the top of the wide **** in the front of the machine. As you pull up, the thread will click into the lower bar/hook thingy.

5. Lay the thread along the right side of the wide ****, go over the top of the needle bar (the part that goes up and down in the ****) and bring it down the left side. It will click into the needle bar.

6. Bring the thread back down towards the presser foot. Right in front of the screw that holds the foot on, there is a hook that opens on the left side. Slide the thread behind this hook, and then thread the needle from front to back.

7. Hold onto the end of the thread and run the needle down and back up once. Pull on the thread, and it will pull up a loop of the bobbin thread. Stick the tip of your scissors or seam ripper into the loop and pull the end of the bobbin thread out.

8. Slide your top thread through the slot in the presser foot so it comes out from underneath the foot, and you're ready to go! (Be sure and hold onto both threads for the first few stitches when you start a seam, to keep if from jamming up inside.)

Let me know if you need any clarification.

Bought a Pfaff 230 sewing machine I have threaded the. Achieve e made sure the bobbin was in right and the bobbin thread will not pick up

Make sure you have installed a brand new needle. If the problem persists, most likely the machine is out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Pfaff 1196, needle won't pick up bobbin thread. Can I fix that?

First, be sure you install a brand new needle. Old, damaged needles frequently will not pick up the bobbin thread. If not that, then the machine is out of time. Search the internet for sites and videos discussing sewing machine timing or take it for service.

My Pfaff Expression 2034 sewing machine is suddenly making an almighty mangled mess at the bottom - it doesn't matter how I re-set the tensions. What can be the problem?

Be sure to use a brand new needle.

Remove the upper thread and bobbin. Reinstall the bobbin making sure it is turning the correct direction and threaded properly in the bobbin case.

RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread. Confirm the thread pathway is correct.

Most often, knots (thread nests) occur under the fabric because the machine is misthreaded or the thread is not seated completely in the tension disk.

My Pfaff expressions 4.0 says Remove thread jam under stitch plate when I try to wind a bobbin, and the machine has no bobbin or thread there, and it is brand new. (and the dealer is closed). Help!

Open the needle plate and check this area for an obstruction.

Refer to the manual for how to clean this area so you get everything back in place.

I have a brand new Pfaff GrandQuilter 18.8 and am having a ton of trouble with the tension. Also it makes terrible banging noises. Is it a lemon?

For a brand new machine, your dealer should help you get it set up properly and give you lessons. Every machine is slightly different. You may just have something as simply as an ill-fitted bobbin case or wrong needle inserted. If it is making a "banging" noise, don't force it to sew. Walk through your instruction manual step-by-step for threading and call your dealer for more help.
