Question about RCA RP3710 Clock Radio

Backup battery not working

I know that the battery is charged. Shouldn't the clock turn on when I put the battery in? Does it need to sit in the clock for awhile before it works? I am concerned because I need it for bad weather. Please help!

Re: Backup battery not working

Check to make sure the battery connections are clean - free of rust/corrosion/gunk...and that the battery firmly "snaps" into it's connector/holder. BTW, if you have a user manual for the clock, I have the same model but lost my manual and can't figure out how to set the time... you can email my with instructions at - I'd appreciate it!

Why does my nelsonic nlc690 am/fm alarm clock radio display 18:88 and not allow me to set the time?

Sounds like it is broken!

Unplug it and remove the backup battery if it has one. Count to 10 and put the battery back in and plug back in.

If that doesn't work, just buy another one as they are cheap enough!

The three lights across the top stay **** and shows no time and can't do anything else

Try unplugging the alarm clock and removing the 9v backup battery. Let it sit for about 60 seconds. Reinstall the battery, plug in and reset the time.

How do you make it work with the 9 volt battery?

The 9-volt battery is a backup battery. It will keep the clock running and the alarm working when the power goes off so you won't be late for work.

I need instructions for my timex clock

Here are the instructions for your clock-radio.

1* Remove unit and all packing materials from the carton. You should save packing

materials in case unit needs to be returned for service. If you do not wish to save the

materials, please dispose of them properly.

2* Place the unit on a stable, level surface, close to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight,

and away from sources of dust, dirt, heat, water, moisture, vibration, or magnetic fields.

3* After installing the batteries (see below) and reading the Maintenance notes, plug the

AC cord into an outlet.

"Sure Alarm" Battery Backup Installation

It is strongly recommended that 2 "AA" batteries be installed into the unit, as directed below,

in order to activate this product's "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup feature. (The model should

come with two batteries already installed.) In the event that the AC power cord is disconnected

or a power failure or other interruption occurs, the "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup will maintain

clock and alarm settings for the life of the battery, ensuring that the alarm (buzzer only) will

sound at the set time. During any interruptions the time and alarm settings will be saved

and automatically restored when AC power is again active.

1* Gently turn the unit over and remove the battery

compartment door.

2. Install 2 "AA" batteries (alkaline is recommended for

longer life), while making sure that the + and - ends

match up with those inside the battery compartment.

3* Slide the battery compartment door back on, making

sure the door locks into place, and gently return the
unit to its upright position.

Which the voltage of the transformer to be replaced

Your clock has a backup battery. Battery is for time backup only.

The clock and alarm memory will

be retained during a power

interruption. During battery

backup operation, the display

will not light up, but the correct
time will be maintained internally
The mains transformer inside it will be of 10.2vAC secondary to 120VAC primary. OK.

You will need to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio and remove the internal battery (CR2430). Then let the Clock/Radio again set with out power for a period of at least 2 hours. after a 2 hour period, put the new battery in the Clock/Radio and Plug it into the a/c outlet. Test the functions to see if the microprocessor has reset to normal operation. Insignia clock radio goes to 12:00 after turning off power

I found this solution by reading some reviews. A reviewer said it was caused by a weak backup battery that powers the display. He said to change the lithium backup battery of the main unit with the backup battery in the remote. I tried it and now it works. I can turn the unit on and off and it doesn't reset my memory. But this hasn't solved my problem with setting the alarm.

Emerson IC200BK smartset iPod radio - buttons seem to be stuck

You can try taking the battery out and let the microprocessor discharge it charge and unlatch the switch controls function. This should take about a hour to be safe. To do this take the plug about from the wall also. The battery may be bad and need replacing. You can test the battery by putting it back in after you test the radio and clock with the a/c plug only. After the radio and clock return to normal operation. Put the battery back in and see if it work properly and all the function work. If you are still having problems replace the battery. If this does not fix the problem, you will have to call Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020. Give them the model number of you clock radio and tell them the problem you are having with the failure of the front panel buttons. They will be able to tell you if there is a fix or if you have to send it in for repair. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
