Question about RCA RP3710 Clock Radio
I know that the battery is charged. Shouldn't the clock turn on when I put the battery in? Does it need to sit in the clock for awhile before it works? I am concerned because I need it for bad weather. Please help!
Check to make sure the battery connections are clean - free of rust/corrosion/gunk...and that the battery firmly "snaps" into it's connector/holder. BTW, if you have a user manual for the clock, I have the same model but lost my manual and can't figure out how to set the time... you can email my with instructions at email@example.com - I'd appreciate it!

1* Remove unit and all packing materials from the carton. You should save packing
materials in case unit needs to be returned for service. If you do not wish to save the
materials, please dispose of them properly.
2* Place the unit on a stable, level surface, close to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight,
and away from sources of dust, dirt, heat, water, moisture, vibration, or magnetic fields.
3* After installing the batteries (see below) and reading the Maintenance notes, plug the
AC cord into an outlet.
"Sure Alarm" Battery Backup Installation
It is strongly recommended that 2 "AA" batteries be installed into the unit, as directed below,
in order to activate this product's "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup feature. (The model should
come with two batteries already installed.) In the event that the AC power cord is disconnected
or a power failure or other interruption occurs, the "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup will maintain
clock and alarm settings for the life of the battery, ensuring that the alarm (buzzer only) will
sound at the set time. During any interruptions the time and alarm settings will be saved
and automatically restored when AC power is again active.
1* Gently turn the unit over and remove the battery
2. Install 2 "AA" batteries (alkaline is recommended for
longer life), while making sure that the + and - ends
match up with those inside the battery compartment.
3* Slide the battery compartment door back on, making
sure the door locks into place, and gently return the
unit to its upright position.

The clock and alarm memory will
be retained during a power
interruption. During battery
backup operation, the display
will not light up, but the correct
time will be maintained internally
The mains transformer inside it will be of 10.2vAC secondary to 120VAC primary. OK.
