Question about Microwave Ovens

I have a J HP60G 002 GE Microwave (older)keeps

I have a J HP60G 002 GE Microwave (older) keeps blowing fuses. This is an over the oven unit (single unit with stove). I have repaired the power supply circuit board before and found a cold solder joint. Repaired with solder. There is something making the fuse blow, like a capacitor. It would be nice to have a schematic.

If it blows the line fuse instantly when you push start.... it is either a shorted HV capacitor or shorted monitor switch.... most likely.

There is a dead short. Either cap or switch. Before you go digging around in the High Voltage section, be sure to short across the terminals of the High Voltage Capacitor. Next, disconnect one of the leads to the primary side of the High Voltage Transformer (from the control or relay board). You have now removed the complete High Voltage section fron the circuitry. See if it still blows the fuse. It probably won't. If it does, the problem is not in the HV section, it is a switch, fan or stirrer motor or light. If it doesn't blow the fuse, reconnect the transformer primary lead and disconnect the single lead to the High Voltage Capacitor. Try it again. If it doesn't blow the fuse, the Capacitor is shorted. It would be best though to use an ohm meter to check for a short across the capacitor as well as from each terminal of the HV Cap to ground. Still, the magnetron should be checked to ground also.

GE Advantium 120 SCA1000DWW03 blowing 20amp fuse

Our unit was doing the same thing,
took it into the repair shop, they said there was nothing wrong with the unit, replace the main breaker that supplies power to microwave and try again.
Sure enough the breaker became defective, and we never had issues with it before, but now the unit has not had a single problem.

Where is the fuse for ge spacemaker jvm1320wb-002...the unit is totally dead...nothing works

It is time to replace the microwave oven, if the fuse is open you more than likely have a more serious problem that will be costly, companies only go back a few years when it comes to supply parts

My microwave oven stopped working. No lights, clocks etc. I have checked the outlet and it is fine, power available. Is there a fuse somewhere inside the microwave?

There is a main fuse in the microwave oven, "white body with silver ends" located near the high voltage capacitor. Unplug unit take top off and allow 30 seconds to dis-charge. Keep in mind the door switch becomes defective and often blows the fuse.

GE JES1855 1100 Watts Microwave Oven not working. Display lights do not come on. Checked wall plug and it is ok.

Sounds like internal fault protection fuse blew. can be fixed by qualified technicians. their is very high voltage coils and capacitors within this unit and can cause harm or death instantly if not discharged properly.

My microwave XL1800 keeps blowing fuses

Now this is not quite clear enough to give an accurate single answer.

Is it the fuse within the microwave or the general house supply fuse that blows?

If its the latter then an electrician needs to create a separate fuse line to reduce the overall load on the fuse, 15amps generally. Many houses have too many plugs being used at once on the same circuit TV, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric jug etc all drawing power. Big screen Tv's are the worst offenders.

If it is the fuse within the Mwave, then it needs attention,as a short has developed in the unit and needs to be corrected.

I will assume it is less likely to be this and punt for the first solution ( House fuse box overload)

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Why does the fuse inside of the microwave keeps blowing

The fuse is protecting the unit from over heating and catching on fire. Either the electrical circuitry is bad in the unit or in the outlet you are using. You can test the outlet with a voltmeter to test the outlet to see if it is good or try another similar type of appliance. Chances are, it is the microwave.
