Hello there:
please try these solutions.
first remove the battery and find the reset hole on the back of the computer and press it in while powering up the laptop and see if it will start.
also you need to make very sure that the ram and harddrive is installed fully while the power is off and then see if it will boot into the cmos set up screen and see if the computer recognizes the drive and the ram installed and if it has a default set up in cmos use it ok?
please keep me informed what is going on so i can try to assist you in any way needed ok
best regards michael

If constant reboot of computer occurs this means it is in a bios loop. A bios loop is where the computer is looking for commands that it is not finding so it goes back to previous lines of command, if your CPU is fried this will occur because the only information provided to your computer is the bios startup information. I had same problem and put a new CPU in and computer is running fine

Compaq presario f730US notebook doesn't have an inbuilt microphone. It employs a connector (port - 3.5mm jack) to connect an external microphone.

Presario F730US wireless not working

We have the same problem on a Compaq F730 US laptop. There is a massive recall going on right now with HP/Compaq motherboards. It mostly affects the wireless adapter. Do some internet research and look on HP's website and see if your model # is included in the recall. If it's not, it should be! Let HP know about it. There is also a BATTERY RECALL on the exact same model. Now we know why Compaq went out of business!
