This is where the hard disk parameters are entered for the primary master IDE/ATA device, the first drive in a modern IDE system. See the hard disk section for details on what these terms mean and how these devices are set up. The various settings for the drive are discussed in detail in the IDE Setup / Autodetection section. Hi there, please try this trobuleshooting steps. after you push the power button quickly tap the F12 key until you reached too boot options menu. once you are already at the menu, select you Hard drive usually harddrive represent as model e.g WDC **** it means western digital. once you slected the harddrive your computer should boot now to your Harddrive. if else fails, waht you need now is to check if you cmputer was able to detect you harddrive. restart the computer then this time keep tapping the F1 key to enter the utility setup. once inside the setup check your system information under internal HDD if motherboard can detect your harddrive. if yes, then all you need to do there is to use the recovery cd that came with the system then boot your computer from the cd rom then install you windows. If not, then you have to contct your manufacturer. that could be a defective harddrive. please let me know if you need more help.

Its saying failure predicted on hard disk 2:wdc wd2500bevs-22usto i cant get on the internet or use the computer cant do anything

Seems like your hard drive is about to die.

To double check, install http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=702&sid=30&lang=en

Burn the iso to a cd. Make sure you burn it as an image file.

Then when you turn on the computer, enter bios and make sure boot from cd is selected first. Restart with the cd you made inserted.

Let the tests run. If it fails a test, then contact westerndigital for a replacement. Tell them it failed the diagnostic tests.

Old hard drive

just plug the old hard drive into your new system insuring that the setting of the jumpers on the old harddrive are set to slave. then when you boot up your system your operating sustem will detect the old harddrive and then you can access if in the my computer folder. In order to keep the the operating system working in the old harddrive do not delete any system files just delete the data you copied in to the harddrive, to be safe do not delete anything in the windows folder in the old harddrive
