Try doing a system recovery by repeatedly tapping f11 as you turn it on, back your files up and reinstall original content, this will put all you hardware back to as you bought your laptop new.

Be sure to delete your current driver before you reload a new driver from the manufacturers web site.

Wireless not working

I'd replace the batteries first, even if you've done so recently. If that doesn't fix the problem, try it on a different computer. My six year old HP computer came with a very similar setup. Look for a reset button on all three of the components and press them.

I have a wireless Linksys WRT1210N router. This is the third one in three years. In each of the last three years they all seemed to work fine for about six months before dropping wireless connections. I...

If you're connecting to the router via wireless, try preventing windows from controlling the power of the wireless card on your computer.

Device manager > network adapters > "double-click your wireless adapter" > power management

then uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option

I hope this helps

I have had my fujitsu siemens for nearly 4 years. When I first go it I had huge problems connecting wirelessly. BT did however seem to sort the problem. It was fine for 2 years, but again I'm having to use...

Yes if it's just Bluetooth you're trying to get to work by a new BT dongle. If wireless and BT are on the same card buy a new BT/wireless card This one Desktop 802 11ac Wifi Bluetooth 4 0 Dual band 1300M Wireless AC PCI... Works great. Try to stay away from Intel I had to replace two of them in the last six months. The link above uses Broadcom and works fantastic.

Hi. I recently moved house, as a result, my Logitech EX100 wireless keyboard sat in a box, unused for about a month. I unboxed it and set up my PC once we'd moved house, but I couldn't get the keyboard...

When batteries leak, they usuallly rot out the connectors and anything in the local. Your warranty may have been voided with that so don't be too hard on yourself because you had a crack at sorting it out.

Besides, you've now got a trendy doorstop.

Please verify if it is only six month old, otherwise, take it back to where you get it from.

Hi, my 9 month old emachines monitor keeps turning off by itself, sometimes as much as five or six times a minute, otehr times not for 30 minutes. Any ideas?

Sounds like its the motherboard that is failing.

Since it's only 9 months old it should still be under warranty.

This computer will need to be taken in for service and the motherboard replaced.

Dvd drive wont work

You probably need a new drive. if the computer is only six months old it should still be under warranty. Just call the manufacturer and tell them you have a faulty dvd rom and see if you have to send the computer back or if they can just send you a new drive.
