Change the Fill valve. Nothing else can reduce the flow. It's restricted by impurities in the water.

Water valve is the part the water hoses are connected to at the rear of the machine. Turn power off before servicing.

It sounds like you need a new water level sensing transducer.
Unplug the power cord and turn off the water at the angle stops (you don't need to disconnect the supply hoses yet).
Release the front clips for the top piece and look for the transducer fairly high near the rear corner ( the parts people at sears will show you a diagram).

Our Kenmore 800 washer will stop from time to time after a water fill, either initial or rinse. It will just sit there full of water. It is not the lid switch. Any ideas?

Possible that the water level detector/controller which is a pressure switch is not activating when the water fills up. If you look on the sides there is a small opening on the tub that has a flow tube attached to a unit which is a diaphragm what works with pressure to activate the contact.
So this can be defective to cause the fault. Similarly remove and plug back all the connectors , contacts to ensure there are no loose connections.

Washer fills wont wash or spin out water makes noise and a very small amount of water flow's from the holes on the front left of the tub

Hi.

You need to run a diagnostic cycle. The procedure is illustrated in a paper tucked inside the control panel. To get the guide to diagnostic remove the top console panel. You will need to disconnect power and undo three screws.

If the paper is not there, try giving me the full model number, I see if I can get service manual for this model.

Over flowing

has someone done work inside the 'head' of this machine or on the body of it in recent time? There is a hose that actuates the level of the water and I believe this has become dislodged by some one/thing. If you can open the head, two screws on either end of that, pull forward and up, you will see underneath there a tube. Is it attached to the end of a 'bell' for lack of a better description? If it is, it may be dislocated off the tub itself. now to take the body off, simply release the clips on either side, and pull the cabinet towards you. see where the tube goes and attaches to the tub. It's probably off there if you have gotten this far. Just plug it back onto that nipple and you should be ok :) Replace the cabinet in opposite order, and there it is

Hope this helps you

Joe

Kenmore 80 Series - water wont fill to full load

remove edge decore trims from left and right side front of control panel8b608f8.jpg
remove phillips screws from bottom corners of contol panel
remove knob from water level selector
raise control panel ~1 inch then flip over backwords on pivots
depress lock tab on right/underside of water level control body where it touches metal mount plate
rotate water level control body 45deg anti clockwise
pull body off
top side of body next to knob shaft is 1/8 hex head bolt
turn clockwise to rais water level
anticlockwise to lower water level
machine can be operated with this part not fitted so can check level. fill, adjust screw, fill will start again, adjust screw, until water level is correct
reinstall in reverse order
Incidentally, the cause is a VERY small wire spring inside the control body that is not really up to the task, and stretches over years.
Its a common occurrence, and I make this repair, on callouts, no parts required, couple times a month you may have to flip the switch to reset to get the water to restart filling

Kenmore 80 Series Model 110.20862990 Type 111

no the timer doesn't control the water fill the pressure switch does you have three possibility's either the pressure switch is malfunctioning or a water valve is hanging open or the pressure switch pressure hose is leaking or off the tub the pressure switch is connected to the knob that lets you select the water level in the tub if you back out the two screws on the front or back of the end caps depending on the model you can pull the control panel forward and tilt it back to access the pressure switch its gold in color and has a clear latex hose attached to it also take the hose loose and blow through it to make sure its clear with the washer empty of course lol if you need more info just reply to me be glad to help water can also leak out from the pressure switch hose if a mouse has chewed through it or its come loose from the tub

Kenmore Series 80 won't stop filling.

Kenmore washers
Fill switch
pull off fill knob
remove plastic trims from front face ends of control panel exposing screws
remove phillips head screws from bottom
slide control panel forward & up ~1inch then flip over backwards on top hinges
to remove fill switch
depress lock tab right side where switch body touches back of control plate
rotate counter clockwishe 45-90 deg
withdraw fill switch
remove plastic tube from switch body
Blow any water out, should be empty when washer is empty messes up pressure sensing
refit plastic tube
adjustment screw is 1/8" hex head bolt next to knob shaft
clockwise raise water level
counter clockwise lower water level
can be operated in this open position to check operation, may have to move switch between fill positions to restart fill operation
