It may seem silly but, has the release button (used to free the end of the solid tube) on the flexible tube, stuck at the in position, perhaps due to broken spring?
hi, if your oil gauge is electronic, yes you can extend the wire. if your gauge is mechanical, i.e. with a plastic oil tube you'll have ti use the proper compression fittings and tubing to extend it.hope thatd helps,
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them. And here's a video summary of some of the steps (much more detail and other steps is provided at the above website):
It means the lens is stuck and/or broken and will not extend. I just had a camera a few days ago with that very same problem. If you are feeling techno-savvy you can open it and replace/free the parts in the lens rings that are malfunctioning, or you can just get a new camera.
It's kind of hard to explain, but basically there are little plastic runners in the lens tube and when they get jammed or broken the lens will not rotate hence will not extend hence is broken.
You may be able to free up what is hanging lens by rapping the camera smartly against the heel of your hand, or on a harder surface covered you a cushion of two laps of bath towel. Do not rap the lens itself of course.
If this does not work, you can try puffing a small amount of graphite lube into the two shelled sections of an extended lens and get it to retract and extend a few time. If this works, wipe the extended lens down good with a dust attracting cloth. Graphite lub is used because it does not attract dust, making a friction problem even worse over time, like oil based lub do. Graphite lub is available at any HW store in a small plastic tube made to squeeze, expelling (puffing) a small amount of fine graphite onto a precise locations.
If none of this works, sell your camera to a repairman on an ebay auction, and replace it with a working used, refurb w/warranty, or new one from ebay. Prices are cheap because the TZ3 has been replaced with the newer TZ5, and millions of TZ3s, an awesome camera I own, were sold. .
I have a electrolux 2000 and my tube has a small tab that you push before it would let me release it. I had trouble getting it off as well. What I did was push the tab, Plasing one foot on the vaccume head holding it down while pulling up and twisting. I'm not sure if yours is attached the same way but this method worked for me. Good luck!
Gently pull on the lens when its trying to extend, you may be able to get it back on track. This is by far the weakest point on any camera that has a retractable lens. So much that Olympus sold a lens guard/adapter for their C5050 that was basically a screw on tube that was the length of the extended lens and people bought it just to protect their extended lens.
I have repaired Dyson machines for years & have never come accross this.
The only way you will have trouble extending the hose is if there is a blockage at the bend where you hold the wand could be a coin which when switched on flips accross & blocks oppening.
Is it easy to slide wand from flexi hose with machine switched off ?
If yes you probably have grit stuck under the collar that you push the button to unlock flexi hose from pipe.
