Question about Toshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD Notebook

1 Answer

Hibernating I have a Toshiba laptop. If it is on for more than a few moments it will go into hibernation. I have changed all settings in the power options but no help. It will do this even if I remove the battery pack and just plug it in to the wall. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I am running XP so I know it is not vista causing the problem. I have run several different antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, etc programs but it comes up clean and no help there either.

    (oxFF9D8050, 0x00000000, 0xAA445743, 0x00000000)

I have tried to update everything through microsoft and internet explorer but so far nothing has worked.

In power option properties, in hibernate tab, there will be an option checked (enable hibernation) just uncheck that option.

My Toshiba Satellite L305-S5877 will sometimes go into a "sleep" type mode randomly and the screen goes almost completely blank. I can just see what is on the screen very faintly. I checked and...

You have to disable the hibernation mode. Sounds like this is the problem. Go to Start - Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance - Power Options - click on Hibernate tab and uncheck where it says Enable Hibernation. This should fix the problem. Cheers

Put my toshiba laptop into sleep mode closed the lid, reopened it within seconds, and now the laptop will not come back on

Reboot the laptop, go to control panel > power options > go through the settings, especially what does the computer do when lid is closed and change the setting to "do nothing", turn off hibernation if it is on. Change other settings to now allow the computer to go to sleep, just let it run until you decide to turn it all the way off. Sleep mode and Hibernation cause more problems than do good.

Hi,
go to control panel,power options,
change your power settings
stop Hibernation,
" choose what to do when I hit the power button" etc....

Hibernation causes problems with startups

Don't use hibernation, use standby,sleep
or turn it off completly
should cure the problem

Richard.

How to turn on toshiba satellite M300 laptop from hibernating mode

hi shirleygty, is that automatic hibernation (the computer hibernates by itself) or manual hibernation (by pressing the hibernate button)? If either applies to your case you might need to update the BIOS information for your computer to fix the power management issues on it. You can get it here. Just run the file, click install & choose Install From Windows. Make sure you don't have any BIOS password or any external devices connected to the computer. When the update completed successfully, your computer will automatically restart, then try hibernating this time (manual or automatic). I do recommend setting the hibernation to 1min. at the control panel > power options > change when to turn off the display. When it hibernates, pressing any keys or the power button should wake up the computer.

Hope this helps.
