Question about Sony RDR-VX535 Player

Open Question

INF Write - not a copyright issue

With the Sonly RDF-WX535, my recording is cut off after only a couple of minutes with INF Write. It will pick up and continue recording (sometime), but then the beginning of the recording is lost. I'm recording old home movies on VHS to DVD, so there's no copyright information on them.

I've also been able to finalize the first two DVDs I made, but the last three do not the finalize as a selectable option.

I'm taking this piece of junk back.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: copyrighted dvds

Copyright protection is to prevent you from illegally stealing material and breaking the law.

If you Google for DVD copying software you will find lots of programs out there. Do remember though, copying DVDs and Video is illegal!

SOURCE: CAN NOT RECORD COPYRIGHT VHS

This is the protection for the source material. Commercialy distributed media is not supposed to be copied. This is under copyright law.

What you can do to be legal, is to buy a second copy.

SOURCE: unable to finalize DVD-R disk because after

Has the disc already been finalized? Do you have enough space left on the disc to finalize the DVD? (It takes some space - I like to leave ~2-4 MB of space.)

Check the disc information. That will tell you if the disc is finalized. Although since format is available, I'd be more likely to think "unused" disc. (You can format DVD-R to VR mode or Video mode (the default). -R discs can only be formatted once.)

If you try to record copy protected content to DVD media, the recording will stop as soon as the protection signal is seen by the machine. (You can record to VHS but may have video problems on playback.)

I hope this helps.

Recorder stops recording from vhs tapes after about a minute

Some VHS tapes have copyright signals embedded in them. Then when the DVD recorder reads the copyright signal it will stop recording due to it thinking there is a copyright violation happening. Try testing with a VHS TAPE of a show you have recorded off the TV and see if it does the same thing .,

Why does my chainsaw cut out

To rule out the tank breather, slacken off the filler cap enough to allow air in, if it picks up again then it is a tank breather issue.

My panasonic dvd recorder was working great and then I had trouble with direct tv and now when I want to record something it gives me a copyright problem? HELP!!!

There is nothing wrong with the player or TV. The programs you are attempting to copy are protected by copyright. Therefore the player will not copy them.

I'm sorry but the TV system is so designed that certain premium and pay-per-view programs carry a signal which instruct the player to not copy them. You should not have any problem copying other free programs.

DVD player won't record full time that is programed into it

There are two things are likely that can cause this: media and copyright protection. If you use DVD-RW or DVD-RAM, you should be able to copy shows ONE time onto the DVD. If you use DVD+RW, or DVD+R, it may issue a copy protection message just before it stops recording.
If the media is bad, it can also cause the machine to stop recording, I believe. You could put it into a PC and try erasing the contents before re-trying to use it in the DVD recorder.

GE Digital Messaging System ~ Voice/Time/Day stamp
1a] press and hold down STOP/set button and wait for promps.....
ie. press NEXT to change Day stamp and then SET to pick.
ie. press NEXT to change Hour and SET to pick.
ie. press NEXT to change Minute and SET to pick.
1b] press NEXT to pick 1minute allowance recording for recieving messages coming in, or 2 minutes or 3 minutes or 4 minutes. This machine only has 1/2 hour of recording time, so maybe you can 'tell' -record- that and let incoming callers know they have only minutes and machine will automatically shut off and cut them off [hang-up] on them.
2] press and hold down Greeting button and follow promps to change the answering machine voice promps to your own voice. Machine will automatically PLAY BACK your voice, if you don't like what you hear, press and hold down Greeting button again and try again.
~ hope all above helps.

Error - E401

e401 on a 6545 is the RDF (reversing doc feeder) pick up motor or pick up sensor problem. Does the rdf attempt to pick up the original or do you get the error as soon as you press start? Are you aware of how to remove all the rdf covers? The pick up motor has a timing wheel & sensor that need to be periodically cleaned.
